Is that a photo of the Fleetwood Mac concert at Madison Square Garden- Damn. I missed it. Read all about it today in the Times.
First missed Woodstock, now this.
Are you dissing Loggins??? This Wire cut is dreamy.

Ken, Jennique, and anyone interested,
I did my homework and here it is:
Hermanos Calatrava - Odisea Espacial (Space Oddity by David Bowie)
http://pastebin.com/j0kvRE5E
I also created an BIO entry and added the song (but song will take 24 hours before showing up)
http://www.songmeanings.net/artist/view/songs/137439063383/
I'd never paid attention nor listen closely the Bowie's Space Oddity before listening the Hermanos Calatrava. Good because David Bowie's version sucks!!!!
I was looking for a .gif of the DJ from the movie that kept covertly giving the gangs updates on the Warrior's whereabouts. Is there a station like that by the way?
Hello all! Can't figure out if the anti-request is really for stuff we can't stand, or "something we don't want played" a la Ken... If it's the first, then Paul McCartney & Wings' "Bip Bop".
And seriously, Ken? "Warriors" holds a record for quality level shift between start and the rest of the movie? Oh come on! Not only is "Warriors" a fine movie, there are certainly plenty of movies with really promising starts that then descend into crap.
Greetings Ken. I recommend recently built prefab modular structures bearing parts identical to those of numerous adjacent structures. I dig em young, uniform and without prophylactics.
Just remember "Rust never sleeps". I'm facing a possible replacement of my boiler, too. The question is: how do you find someone to give you an honest appraisal and not just sell you a new boiler?
one more antii-request: the Kingston Trio's version of Seasons In The Sun.
9:49am
r i s k y:
Go Ken!!!
9:49am
dale:
boiler guy hosed you. if he had new replacement parts with different part numbers why not just replace them when time came? problem is, that would be when it's 5 degrees out.
Beyond the "Warriors" gifs, not much to report on the gif front, movie-wise. Except the bannister gif, which is from the 1925 Lon Chaney movie "The Monster".

Calm down, people. Ken is just giving us examples of anti-request songs so we can know better.
I figure if I survived the 30 minutes (or whatever it was) of deliberate, un-attended feedback before the Swans gig at the 9:30 club (circa 1989), I can take a bit of Savage Ken...
Yes Bill W, it had its moments, but after reading "Going Clear" and the Miscavige niece book, I realized even more what a missed opportunity that movie was.

the glowing one,
If you fast rotate the screen of your computer it looks like an animated JPEG.
The Storch wiki page has between in a minor edit war since April 8, with people adding the death date over and over, and others reverting multiple times. They currently have him alive till someone changes it again.
I once saw a guy in the street giving away flyers about a short film that was going to be exhibited for free. The flyer featured this cool black panther and it looked like I was going to see an independent thriller. The venue was the headquarter of Scientology and I ended up watching a 30 min advertorial. Obviously I stayed there just few months. We were only allowed to drink water, we didn't washed ourselves, etc. Thank Xenu I wasn't brainwashed.
On an unrelated note, I have all Tom Cruise films and hearted the song.
Hey fofo - Thanks for that translation of Hermanos Calatrava! Their lyrics are so much more political. I had no idea. Thanks for the bio too.
I fear posting my most hated song here on Ken's show. It's like falling for the "pull my finger" trick.

Death according to media? It's both content and a content marker.
Past tense follows from this point on.
I was one of the major fixers of the embarrassingly sloppy junkheap that was the wiki Ebert article at the time of his death last week. Dude wrote well, and deserved a decent article. I'm expecting a check for my editing work later this month.
The hazy definition of "celebrity" means that celebrity deaths come in 259s, not threes. I mean, if you count everybody who ever appeared in a Bollywood film or did a guest spot on some bullshit detective show on TV. Where do you draw the line on who is a celebrity and who isn't? Who decides?

Gretchen:
is he starting a medley of songs containing "sproing?"
You know what is weird, the same guy who is the gif from Full Metal Jacket was also the possessed alien in the first Men in Black film and the lead in Law & Order Criminal Intent. Vincent D'Onofrio.

I dunno, Ike. But the guy swimming in the hall to our left looks celebrity enough for me. Animated gifs are the new films.
Yes Ike, it's the old "Who Shall Play God" question. We could argue about that for days. Which is why I nominate ME. After all, I have a lot of GIFS and a laptop running Traktor. Which is about as God-like as you can get.
Hope not, that is why I was so surprised to see Gretchen in the comments board. She was a hipster - you know, I can only like what is obscure and only on vinyl.
@Ken: My bad, working from memory. I read some book chapters last year about the South Sea Bubble (1720) and Tulip Bubble, and got it in my head they were the same period.
Rev Rabbit, what is this FAQ T-shirt idea? I missed it.
11:35am
Gretchen:
@ V: hipsters be gone! Ken can play whatever he likes and I will sometimes just not like it. but no elitism here, just a PhD in dorkiness. He could whip out some Reo Speedwagon and I'd still be singing along.
If you're having difficulty seeing a gif, you can click on it to enlarge it a bit. If this still isn't enough, you can hit the f button on your keyboard to make it bigger!
Last summer, we walked upon a Journey cover band. Down to the much older Steve Perry lookalike. What made me smile was how much the crowd was into it-as if it was truly Journey. It was very cool.

Ken playing role of angry overlord: itz teh awesum!!

Gretchen:
only 6 more minutes, so sad! glad I finally caught the show live for once. (and I know you'll play REO next week once you locate it)
My grandfather owned an REO Speed Wagon back in the 1930s, and I have a letter from Marshall Tucker to my mother telling her that he was leaving Rice Music House and starting his own piano tuning business.

Gretchen:
@V
I was in the most wonderful local small town mosh pit last night (some punk band with the lead doing indonesian throat singing) and the dancers were dominated by those of us in the overthehill crowd, too funny!

Rob:
whats this smith edit?

Vivian,
If they played like Journey, sound liked Journey, the singer looked like Steve Perry, but in an older version, then, perhaps it was Journey?
Damn atmospheric disturbances blocking signals!
Final gif roundup: So, after the game gif and the Tums commercial gif, we return to movies: Drew Barrymore in her directorial debut, "Whip It". And then of course "Full Metal Jacket" and "The Wild Ones". Not a lot today. But I did love the cat in the "Battlefield Earth" gif!
