Avatar 1:53pm glenn:

just out of curiosity, why didn't the motogators play / air on your show?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58pm Matt F:

Because I'm in the band and that would be kinda gauche. Plus I'm lazy.
Avatar 1:59pm glenn:

i know, but i think it would be okay. the lazy part i get, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm Uncle Michael:

Quit the band and have them on?
Avatar 2:01pm glenn:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm listener james from westwood:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm Uncle Michael:

Starkist doesn't want Charlies with good taste...they want Charlies that taste good.
Avatar 2:03pm glenn:

gaucheness doesn't stop kim mitchell from playing max webster on his show on q107, toronto's home of classic rock. although i'm pretty sure the "program director" chooses it, and not kim.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm listener james from westwood:

good one, UM!
  2:07pm earrie:

Songs that are too heavily rotated when current hardworking broke cancon bands get zero airplay = what the hell?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm Matt F:

I have no idea what you guys are talking about, but I'm so glad you're here! Welcome.
Avatar 2:11pm glenn:

anyway, i think the motogators should come and play in toronto. i'll make dinner for you.
  2:11pm earrie:

Thanks Matt. Hey hello and good to be listening.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm Matt F:

UM- Or take the lazy man's route: Quit the band and NOT have them on.
Avatar 2:13pm glenn:

and if you come today, i'm bbquing pork loin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Matt F:

Glenn- maybe when the Red Sox are at the Rogers Centre! Earrie, thank you. Playing this uncharacteristically long song lets me actually reply to comments.
Avatar 2:14pm glenn:

skydome. fuck rogers and their rogers centre.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Matt F:

That's a terrible thing to say about Mr. Rogers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Uncle Michael:

I'm quitting all the bands I'm not having on my show. Today I officially announce my resignation from the Holy Modal Rounders. I'm not having them on my premiere episode. I'm so excited!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Matt F:

I hear ya. I quit the Stones just in time to avoid a conflict of interest for today's show.
Avatar 2:18pm Ted:

Stuff I got'll bust your brains out.
  2:19pm earrie:

Skydome. It's at the foot of Blue Jay Way
Avatar 2:20pm glenn:

fuck him. as far as i'm concerned, when the government sells a building that cost 600 million to build for 25 million, then as one of the taxpayers that helped put the monstrosity up, i can call it whatever i want.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm Matt F:

Awright Ted. Glenn, Fred Rogers did all that? OK, fuck him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Uncle Michael:

NASA has just announced the discovery of two "earth-like" planets. Though the planets are located with the "habitable zone," it has yet to be determined whether they contain the combination of elements considered necessary for life: oxygen, carbon dioxide, methane, water and Junior Wells records.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Uncle Michael:

I really love this record.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Matt F:

Ooh, then you'll like the next selection...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm Doug Schulkind:

Gotta go run to my daughter's soccer game. Geez, I got winded just typing that sentence.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Uncle Michael:

I got "Hatchet 1&2" from my buddy Larry Grogan's blog about six years ago.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm Uncle Michael:

Yes Matt. Larry was one of my first blogger-pals. I followed him over to Viva-Radio, in fact. Great guy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm Matt F:

I get that impression from his writings.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm Uncle Michael:

Looks like at least 300 people at Wrigley today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm Parq:

F16C, as I used to call it, was a favorite of mine, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm Uncle Michael:

I consider Larry a brother from another mother...even though I sport no ink. We both have dark, Deadhead pasts.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm Uncle Michael:

It's not Alzheimers, it's the record gnomes, Matt. They're always stealing my stuff. They're everywhere!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm Matt F:

Hey Nate. Maybe you're right. I'll put out some glue traps.
  3:38pm Sean B.:

I know my opinion probably don't mean much...:but I think Aretha's Gospel Recordings were some of the greatest recordings ever made Eva!.PERIOD.
  3:40pm Luis Williams:

In celebration of Gatemouth's birthday, thanks for starting off with "Okie Dokie Stomp".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm Uncle Michael:

I gotta roll. Unlikely I'll be reseated before the top of the hour. Really cool show, Mr. F. See you all later.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm Parq:

Aaron's "Like It Is" would be just about the only thing worthy of following Aretha *and* Marvin.
Avatar 3:51pm Richard D:

Pass the Hatchett -an Earl Stanley production. Earl Stanley - singer, bass gtr., performer. Eddie Bo did the vocal track. Eddie Bo began as a classically trained jazz clarinetist. After being unable to find work, and seeing his buddies working in rock & roll, Eddie dumped the high-brow, and began singing rock & roll. Later Eddie produced and started countless record labels in New Orleans.

To my friend the man with the dream - Eddie Bo. RIP.
