You've got some mighty shoes to fill there, Paul. But don't fret, you'll pull it off, you're already off to a good start

@Uncle Flowed- Not quite but hopefully, you'll stick around anyway!
  3:23pm ?:

So is terri gone?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Yer doin' Terre proud. Great start!

Avatar 3:28pm fred:

Terre always shows great taste, and that includes who she picks to sub for her
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm DJ PB:

Terre should be back next week!

Thanks Kevin, Fred, Rabbit, Sean and everybody for listening and checking in.
  3:33pm Listener Jumpy in Brooklyn:

Soundin' good.
Avatar 3:36pm CTEmpress:

Thunder! Lightining! PAUL!!! Way to spark up the afternoon!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm Sigurdur:

peace light and capoeira
Avatar 3:39pm fred:

I haven't heard Terre's show in ages (I'm not often home on Saturdays), so I'm a bit let down as hers was my gateway show to the station.
But this is GOOD!
  3:48pm Danne D:

Yay Paulie B :) good stuff for a torrentially rainy day
  3:48pm BuckyKatt:

The dark skies & thunder make for snazzy special FX, but the severe thunderstorm warning is overdoing it a bit. Enjoying the tunes, though!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm Sigurdur:

celebrity commenters all out for Paulie :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm Sigurdur:

fALL nice!!!
Avatar 3:57pm party sub:

Paul Bruno is my landlord's name so I pretend the check I write every month is going to you instead of my jerk landlord.
Avatar 3:57pm fred:

Hi Danne, we don't cross comment-paths that often these days...
  4:02pm ScottC:

killer set Paul!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:03pm Mike East:

this weather is making me consider moving to the pacific northwest
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05pm pacific standard simon:

@Mike East - Rain is in the forecast for Seattle for the next couple of days.
  4:06pm Danne D:

hey Fred good to see you :)
Avatar 4:08pm fred:

I only saw The Fall once. They had an interesting item for sale, a lighter with a groove so that it could serve as a beer bottle opener for clumsy people like me. WFMU swag made it redundant, but I regret not getting that. I should own my deficiencies, especially when endorsed by such luminaries
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Mike East:

yeah, I dig it, simon. rain makes everything so GREEEN.
Avatar 4:12pm fred:

@Danne: I guess you're not being laughed at as much as Bengal these days. Especially by Jets fans
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm Mike East:

only there's no terrestrial WFMU signal out there.
  4:14pm ScottC:

i was almost killed by a collapsing shelf full of Nat. Geographics so I can relate
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm Sigurdur:

alrighty then
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm pacific standard simon:

The same could be said of most of the places in the world where I would choose to live, Mike.
Avatar 4:17pm fred:

@Mike East: Embrace the digital (in this case). WFMU means a lot to many locally underground scenes in Europe now. They get airplay they don't get in their own countries
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm Mike East:

yeah, I guess I shouldn't base my decision on where to live based on my reluctance to get a "smart"phone. Bend, Oregon, here I come!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm pacific standard simon:

I moved up here from San Francisco; I thought I would have to subscribe to MLB.com in order to continue following my SF Giants (blacked-out on the internet stream of The Giants flagship radio station). But now I find that the Portland affiliate streams the games.
Avatar 4:27pm fred:

@Mike East: I don't have a mobile phone, dumb or smart. I hear about unknown bands on the station at home or work, then I see them live. Well over a hundred times a year. Cheap gigs too, a better investment than a phone

Avatar 4:31pm amEdeo:

Wait... is Paulie Pauly or Paulie?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33pm Blacktooth:

Dude, I've bought two digital albums now, just listening to this show. "Slates" by the Fall and the Kent 3 album. Thanks for introducing me to the hits!
Avatar 4:33pm fred:

amEdeo! I scored some delightful homemade onigiri yesterday. I really should learn how to make these
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35pm Mike East:

times like this, when I have to leave the house, I'm glad I have 91.1 coming in clear in the car. I'll see y'all later!
Avatar 4:37pm amEdeo:

ONIGIRI!!!!!! AHHHH. So good. Now I am hungry all over again!!

What kind did you have?!
Avatar 4:43pm w41:

Great show Paul!
Avatar 4:46pm fred:

@amEdeo: Yuzu, then umeboshi, and my favorite: katsuobushi. I'm a longtime anorexic, but I'd gorge on katsuobushi onigiri
Avatar 4:49pm amEdeo:

OoOo! I don't think I've ever had Yuzu before. Oh boy. WANT.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm Stevel:

I'm having trouble turning this up loud enough.
Avatar 4:54pm fred:

@amEdeo: I think Yuzu is tastier in cakes or other sugary stuff, but its combination with rice is really interesting, especially with crispier, harder rice. Now I'm getting hungry too
Avatar 4:58pm listener mark:

Paul Bruno sitting in the driver's seat.
5:02pm Rich from long beach ny:

Best show I've ever heard
Avatar 5:05pm amEdeo:

Now I am looking at pictures of adorable Onigiri on the internet.
Avatar 5:09pm fred:

@amEdeo: I can't do that. I'm spoiled because of Japanese friends who do such great ones I can't find any acceptable commercial substitute. It's a rare treat for me, and I just enjoy it when I can.
Avatar 5:17pm fred:

I would have gone vegetarian, but I just couldn't give up Katsuobushi
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm Blacktooth:

Wow, Purling Hiss really streamlined their sound. I can dig it.
Avatar 5:23pm fred:

@Blacktooth: I wish I could see them live. But with a label like Drag City, they're probably out of my price range now
Avatar 5:26pm Terre T:

Hi Paul & everybody! OH YES my Brutha from Anotha Mutha bestie Paulie B filling in for me finally! Luvin this show- Can't listen but quick peeking at playlist. (Wish I could be there but I'm taking 2 -week a Ninja Training Course!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27pm pacific standard simon:

"Turntable ninja" wasn't enuff for ya?
Avatar 5:30pm fred:

@Terre: So we won't know when you're back until you hit us devastatingly? Works for me
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm Blacktooth:

Now, I just picked up the Purling Hiss album. Please stop playing good music, as soon I will be broke.
Avatar 5:35pm Terre T:

@PacificStandardSimon - ha! Unfortunately I don't think I could thwart a mugger by impressing them with a tight segue of 2 one minute ponk toons!
@PaulieB I LOVE that u played "2Sisters" on yr 1st fill-in for me-- that's *our* song !! So the circle is complete :)
Avatar 5:36pm fred:

@Blacktooth: Boy do I know how this feels. But it's a good pain; they deserve that money. I wish I could afford to spend more this way. Choices suck
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

HomeAgainHomeAgain JiggetyJig.
Avatar 5:39pm fred:

I love this song (dancing barefoot), this is a decent cover, but check out Still Saffire's
Avatar 5:41pm Terre T:

@Fred aw yeah! It looks like Paulie's doing an insanely great job. Blaargh I gotta get back to my "Ninja Training" before my Sensei finds me in this bathroom on my iphone...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42pm DJ PB:

@Terre- Thanks so much for checking in! It means so much to me! Glad you're enjoying (reading about) the show!

@Everybody else- Thanks for listening and commenting I'm sorry I couldn't respond much. Kinda busy doing a radio show here! But it's truly, truly appreciated!
Avatar 5:45pm fred:

@DJ PB: You're focusing on the right thing, and you're doing well. I should be catching up on sleep, but you're keeping me awake, and I thank you for that!
  5:47pm common:

thanks for new wire. i love it!
Avatar 5:52pm fred:

Still Saffire cover here: youtu.be...
There's a false start, but on Keili's watch, so it's more than OK
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- Loving coming home aftewerk to this Show!
...hm - Shins & Dr. Dog on Austin City Limits tonight. Seen it but might watch it again...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57pm Cliff:

Good show today, thanks Paulie B!
Avatar 5:59pm fred:

Paul, this was a great show! I hope you'll be back soon, but not instead of Terre
Swag For Life Member 6:00pm dinatekno:

What a fantastic show! Thank you for all the late 70's early 80's stuff. Brought me back to my y00t!
  12:36am John:

What was the new reigning sound song?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:07am DJ PB:

Did I say Reigning Sound? I meant Oblivians! Sorry!
