Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm
Irene Trudel:

Hi everybody! Glad you're here chillin' on a chilly May day. @Andy, yes you've been hearing a lot of Leon Thomas because there's a great new compilation album in WFMU's new bin. Lovin' it!

His duet with Louis Armstrong on "The Creator Has A Master Plan" wouldn't happen to be on that, would it?

Hi Irene and everyone! Always nice to chill out here, and indoors, away from the sometimes strong winds lately!

Irene, I was reading on Steven Wilson's website that him and his band did a live set at the Amoeba record store,

Hello Irene, Andy, Matt, KP.
Kenzo has a master plan.

I am a bit rusty with Divine Comedy but wasn't there a track out describing the joy of travelling on a National Express bus service?

My favorite Dante translations are Robert Pinsky's Inferno, W. S. Merwin's Purgatory, & Allen Mandelbaum's Paradise

Hey Brian!
And when Kenzo's master plan is 100% complete, I'm sure he'll begin implementing master plan II.

Too bad the only translation into English of Dante's De Monarchia is an old, not very good one!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm
Matt from Springfield:

Very thorough, I X! Wish I knew Dante that well to find just the right translations.

Coincidentally, my iPod on shuffle this morning played Joshua Bell playing Chopin Nocturne...gives me chills every time I hear it. I saw him play that live during encore at Strathmore a few years ago...when he announced it there were a lot of ooohs and aaaahs in the crowd. It was haunting & chilling & *beautiful*.

Well now I can't use Safari. It's not the picture, the column with the posts is alongside it. It's just better using that when it works. Anyway the music is nonetheless a joy.

Absolutely loved the show, Irene! In fact, two of the favorite songs of my undergrad days were played back to back, from the Divine Comedy and Left Banke. Bliss!
Btw, can the info for Death of A Supernaturalist be added for posterity or somethin? :)

Thanks for making the week better, as always.
