Good morning Scott
Avatar 9:06am doca:

morning scott and listeners, it's always a pleasant experience when grachan moncur starts playing on my friday mornings.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:08am dvx:

Good morning!
  9:09am common:

did clay pigeon leave that german book there?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10am dvx:

If you have any questions on German, I'd be happy to help.
Avatar 9:10am Cheri Pi:

Checking in!
Avatar 9:10am hamburger:

yes it is. bayern munich should win easily - tho they lost their last 3 finals
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11am fred:

@doca: the JM in the AM / Long Rally transition has those two musics so associated in my mind that it's weird hearing one without the other, which happens every other weekday
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12am Scott McDowell:

My own kids think the JM song is "my" song!
  9:12am common:

drummer's corpse is one of the best song titles i've ever heard. that and "from the desk of elsewhere go". good stuff.
Avatar 9:15am doca:

i guess borussia dortmund may win...they have not lost to bayern on the last 10 games and they know how to play a final match
Avatar 9:15am Chris from DC:

Whoa this is great.
  9:15am Glenn m:

good morning
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:15am Andrew Waterloo:

I'll have to submit "Re-entry chute failure" as a great song title.
  9:17am common:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17am fred:

wow indeed
  9:17am common:

andrew, that's a great one!
Avatar 9:18am Cheri Pi:

Avatar 9:18am Mega_Man_X:

That drummer still wont die.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26am Andrew Waterloo:

a 33 minute track
Avatar 9:28am beavoux:

This might be the single edit version.
Avatar 9:29am βrian:

I like this better now that I'm awake. Having it on loop for the past 8 hours was a bit much, though. (long story ...)
Avatar 9:29am doca:

and i guess scott will play it two times today
  9:29am common:

holy shit
Avatar 9:30am kim (germland):

Avatar 9:31am beavoux:

Is that Yamataka Eye on vocals?
Avatar 9:32am hamburger:

wow - no joke about the length
Avatar 9:34am βrian:

Better than a dryer full of paving stones! (I know.)
  9:35am common:

thank you scott. one of my favorite songs in the world now.
Avatar 9:37am Cecile:

you found a new Hipnosis?
Avatar 9:40am Cecile:

This would normally thrill me,b ut my synapses are a little sleepy this AM. I will check back later.
Avatar 9:42am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

HaHa! - like using just the nastier vsuals from 'Akira' (say) - to a soundtrack of Stooges' 'L.A. Blues' - endless repeat...
Avatar 9:43am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

  9:46am bill:

I didn't hear any nose flute

  9:58am common:

i'm gonna stop, but this is yet another great song title.
Avatar 9:58am Chris from DC:

Epic set.
Avatar 9:59am Rev. Turnip Druid:

what it is!
  10:00am common:

and a great song. i remember. ok. done.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12am tim from champaign:

One of my all time favorite shows was Rodan, '68 Comeback and Rocket from the Crypt in February 1994.
  10:14am bill:

Holy cow tim, I well remember Rodan, Shorty and Shellac very soon after that
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19am tim from champaign:

that sounds like a good one too, bill. In February and March 1994, I saw a string of pretty remarkable shows in a manner of 6 weeks. There was the above mentioned show, Sleep/Hawkwind, Blues Explosion/Faith Healers, and Laughing Hyenas/Don Caballero.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20am tim from champaign:

If it's too old, you're too loud!
  10:24am Tom G:

I'm hoping for an upset too but the absence of Gotze is pretty big for Dortmund.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25am Sigurdur:

hehehe, that made me hlaughj
  10:25am Tom G:

I'm going with the majority. Bayern 3-1 Dortmund.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27am Scott McDowell:

Bayern's is the best team. Man are they good. Total football. Another prediction: Arjen Robben will miss a penalty.
  10:28am Tom G:

I predict Robben will collapse as if shot.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29am Scott McDowell:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29am Scott McDowell:

His flappy arm means he's going left. (He's always going left.)
  10:31am Tom G:

Then then then .... OH, he shoots from outside the box and it flies into the stands!
  10:31am Tom G:

I almost cried when I read Gotze was ruled out.
Avatar 10:32am w41:

I'll bet Bayern 2:0.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32am Scott McDowell:

Yeah he's great.
  10:33am bill:

Sleep/Hawkwind is a bill for the ages
Avatar 10:36am Chris from DC:

So jacked for Sleep this weekend.
Avatar 10:37am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Had to step away. Now stepped back. What's all this about Sleep & HW? That sounds like a recipe for ........ uh...... for me, actually.
Avatar 10:49am Cheri Pi:

Sleep is playing at Deathfest! you lucky ducky.
Avatar 10:50am Cheri Pi:

Prescient: boingboing.net...
Avatar 10:51am cptbob:

you are talking me around towards Dortmund.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51am tim from champaign:

RTD - About 20 years ago Hawkwind and Sleep toured together. It was pretty great. It was Nik Turner Hawkwind featuring Helios Creed on guitar. Pretty dang good.

On a side note, I saw Chrome last weekend. Helios Creed is a mess. His backing group was straight out of the Guitar Center School of Rock. Helios had difficulties tuning his guitar, starting songs, stopping songs mid way, and even playing a song that was Shout At The Devil riff for riff. Kinda sad.
  10:52am common:

jason karkonis!!! hot snakes city!
  10:52am RG:

I'm supporting Dortmund too (what neutral isn't?) but Bayern last beat them in February this year. In fact, of the last 4 games, Bayern won 2, and the other two were draws.

Bayern definitely favourites.
Avatar 10:53am Cheri Pi:

THE SONG!!!!!!!!!
Avatar 10:54am Chris from DC:

TFC, wow saw Helios a few years back and it was great. That's a shame.
Avatar 10:54am jdelz:

Such a hit
Avatar 10:54am Rev. Turnip Druid:

man, the Druid household is still deep in austerity measures. No fun at deathfest for the long-eared reverend.

Tim: I had heard something similar re: a recent Chrome show -- sadness abounds. But that Sleep/HW tour would've been a head-twister.
  10:54am bill:

NYCTaper has a nice recording up of Parquet Courts from just a few weeks ago. includes a hot version of this song
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58am tim from champaign:

Chris from DC - yeah, it was weird. I think Helios might have been on some shit or maybe had a stroke. This is just pure speculation. It seemed like his balance was off. unable to literlly focus on anything, etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58am Scott McDowell:

RG, yeah I know Bayern heavy fave. Dortmund lost twice in their last 9 meetings with Bayern. And as I said, Bayern are the Buffalo Bills of the Champs. League.
Avatar 11:00am Rev. Turnip Druid:

I'm still too hungover from Arsenal's win last week to have an opinion on the Germans. But it should be a fun match either way...
  11:01am Marmalade Kitty:

Apparently, BorussiaDortmund are yet to lose a match or even concede a single goal in 60 years of European competition against fellow German opposition ..!
  11:01am Tom G:

How cursed would Bayern feel if they lost AGAIN? I feel for them a little, but only a little, a very little. They were better than Inter and lost and they were better than Chelsea and lost.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05am Scott McDowell:

Just ask John Elway.
  11:09am Tom G:

I wonder how many actual games that includes, Marmalade K? They haven't seen another German team this tournie.

BUT, they beat Madrid 3x and drew them once. So there's that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09am Scott McDowell:

Haha, I actually like Bayern. They are amazing. But y'know.
  11:12am bill:

This is Drummer's Corpse at half speed isn't it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18am Scott McDowell:

Borussia Dortmund's motto: Echte Liebe (Real Love)
  11:30am Tom G:

Great interview with Klopp in the Guardian this week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44am Mike East:

that track you played early in the show that sounded like it was sampling Steven Tyler was pretty wild. Hope everyone had a good morning.
Avatar 11:51am w41:

Wow I just came home from work, and this song by Connie Acher was playing in my head all the way! Thank you Scott.
Avatar 11:54am hamburger:

oh that's why I know this song... the dude
Avatar 12:09pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Digging this like megamad. Nice.
