Favoriting Seven Second Delay with Andy and Ken: Playlist from May 29, 2013 Favoriting

The program formerly known as Dinner at Andy's, The Fuzzy Glove Hour, Whores, and The Happiness Hut. Ken and Andy, also known as The Enema Boys, further lower WFMU's already abysmal standards on a weekly basis. Stunt radio which subjects the radio audience to concepts and topics which mature adults should not have to endure. Find the fatal flaw. (Visit homepage.)

GO amEdeo & Friends!!! A capella themes 4EVAH!!!
Everybody clap!
  6:04pm
Robert:

Yeah, but the playlist comments are new. But we could rerun them if you want.

Ike:

Aw, for a few seconds there, I thought amEdeo & co. were going to pretend to be Ken and Andy, and insist to all callers that they were actually Ken and Andy. Instead, just a rerun. Oh well.
Avatar 6:05pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Ike: No but, GREAT idea for a 7SD fill-in! Why haven't they thought of that before? Someone should fill-in, pretending to be Ken and Andy, anyway :)
Avatar 6:05pm
BadGuyZero:

Why is amEdeo trapped at the station?
Avatar 6:07pm
Caryn:

@Ike: I thought that as well! That would be fantastic. The radio equivalent of Queen's "The Miracle" video.
Avatar 6:07pm
Danne D:

Oh my.
Wonderful.

A hidden gem.

Show already made.
  6:07pm
P-90:

@ Ike:
Actually, that's a great idea for a fill-in (which def would have been better than a mere rerun.)
Avatar 6:07pm
Danne D:

Andrea seems like she's been all over the station lately :)

I'm assuming Andrea was the co-singer there :)
  6:08pm
Robert:

I thought they were going to perform to a transcript of an installment. But that's been done here, hasn't it?
Avatar 6:08pm
Matt from Springfield:

@BGZ: I think it's more like Clay & Julie's monumental Hurricane Irene fill-in: amEdeo's not so much trapped in the station, but he's blocked the doors and trapping the others OUT of the station!

And, hi BGZ! Robert, Ike, Caryn, Danne, P-90, and all Delayers!

Story of the Flood copyrighted 1909...? Does he mean the Sumerian year 1909, for 3554 BC??

Too bad the technology behind Bad Company's "Bad Company" was not yet utilized to "BC" callers back in '94...

The verification reminds me of how the hospital my mother worked at verified a virgin birth. Never went public with it, but gave the mother a paper certifying that her delivery had been a virgin birth. So, not as surprised as this guy that verifications don't lead to making things public.

Poor guy - didn't read the back of the ticket. He probably never collected his lottery winnings.

I assure you that I did not call this particular episode.

This guy really should've listened to an episode of the show before agreeing to participate.

ah...94...oh wait, it sucked
Avatar 6:26pm
amEdeo:

I can also assure you that I did not call in, as I was three at the time this was recorded, and the only radio I knew was a smooth jazz station.

@amEdeo:
Listening to smooth jazz at 3 yrs.?
That's pretty precocious!

Man, I can't wait to hear the rest of this on archive. It's compelling, but not enough to keep me at the office for another half hour when my work is done for the day.
Avatar 6:30pm
Danne D:

@amEdeo - Funny thing is, I think Todd prophesizes about your appearance as a DJ on FMU later on in the show :)
Avatar 6:30pm
Matt from Springfield:

Brilliant in its way; this show is really making fun of all such call-in shows! But Todd doesn't know it!
Avatar 6:33pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Benedict: It's probably what the 'rents had on--that was the case for me in my younger years. To its credit, it introduced me to George Benson and other such "smooth R&B" of the 70s that's disappeared from the rest of the dial (as well as some kitsch stuff, like Gino Vannelli!)

I think it's unbelievable that this is the one response they got from a classified ad.

And i'm pretty sure that when he says he won the lottery, it means he bought a few winning scratch off tickets.

Zats...now that I don't get math practice when I enter comments, I forgot that 1994 was 19 years ago, not 13.

"The lyric "if you see Kay" (F-U-C-K) has been employed many times, including by blues pianist Memphis Slim in 1963, R. Stevie Moore in 1977, April Wine on its 1982 album Power Play, the Poster Children via their 'Junior Citizen' in 1995, and Turbonegro in 2005, as well as a line from James Joyce's 1922 novel Ulysses."
