WOOOOO!!! The Church! Love the feel of "Shadow Cabinet"!
Avatar 5:40am
Matt from Springfield:

Remember Clay's riff on goth music with his improv-ed "I'll Be The One Who's Wearing Black"? Well whenever I try to riff or imitate 80s "goth" music, I always sing to this tune, even though this itself isn't goth.
Avatar 🦇 5:41am
Julie:

Of course I remember that:)

really enjoying today's show, btw....

"Winter morning you walk through the trees / But they cut them all down for the factories / Made this pretty cabinet and gave you the keys" kind of environmental message, and probably the least opaque Church lyric I know of!

this whole album is really good, I love the jangle of the guitar on this
Avatar 5:46am

A new album too! They've got their own label, I see.

(I've recorded my own copy of "I'll Be The One Who's Wearing Black"--as well as Clay's "Camptown Parachute Pants"! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47am

I don't think I ever really listened to Inkubus Sukkubus..... now I might have to pick it up. Funny, I am starting today's show a little gothy too.... It'll be a good transition!
Avatar 5:50am

Fantastic, Meghan!
(The joint 4AD show was a great transition as well--remember to do another show together like that!)

Droll:

So you thought you could play early Genesis without the Prog Police noticing? HA! It took me a while, but eventually I caught up to your airing of this excellent live recording. LLDoB is such a great record, but it peaks too early with the Broadway Melody of '74 on side 1.

I'll let you off with a warning this time, but some other listeners (and DJs!) may not be so forgiving next time.
