I'd never thought of the Italians as beer makers but I've become a sucker for a cold Peroni, especially on draft. I've been excited because our local craft beer shop has started carrying Peroni. Unfortunately it comes on green bottles and is very sensitive to mishandling so the six pack we got the other night was kind of nasty. I blame the distributor who probably thinks Peroni is like expensive Budweiser.

Her musical career began in the summer of 1979 when guitarist Rainer Kitzmann offered her a position as the lead singer in his band, The Stripes. The group had a minor hit with the song "Ecstasy", but never achieved mainstream success, and soon disbanded.

In 1981, Nena and her then-boyfriend Rolf Brendel moved to West Berlin, where they met future band members, guitarist Carlo Karges, keyboard player Uwe Fahrenkrog-Petersen, and bass player Jürgen Dehmel. Together they formed the band "Nena". In 1982 "Nena" released their first single, "Nur Geträumt" (German for "Only Dreamt"), which became an instant hit in Germany after the band appeared on the German television show Musikladen. The single reportedly sold 40,000 copies the day after the song appeared on the show and reached number two in the German charts.[2]

Cecile, I want to like Longmire because K. Sackhoff is in it, but it seems like just another procedural crime drama and last time I watched they weren't giving her character enough to do. I like TV that's a little more ambitious. Heck, Adventure Time is supposedly for kids and it's about 1000 times more ambitious than Longmire. But I understand the appeal of the gorgeous New Mexico landscapes (standing in for Wyoming).

I like it because it is a good old standard police procedure. The acting is understated. There is no gratuitous gore.It is like drinking a glass of nice cold water.

Cecile, do you like Person of Interest? That one strikes a nice balance between standard crime drama and something much more ambitious with a creepy surveillance state theme and a possibly sentient supercomputer watching everyone.
