Every Thursday evening this summer, multitudinous accordionists fill every corner of Bryant park in midtown Manhattan with squeezebox sounds from around the globe. Accordions Around the World is produced by Bryant Park in collaboration with music and arts blogger Ariana Hellerman. Ariana joins us along with accordionist Vitor Gonçalves - of the Brazilian choro band Regional de New York - to spread some squeezebox love.

Vitor and Regional de NY play this Friday night at 8 pm @ Barbes, 376 9th St., Park Slope, Brooklyn. They also play every other Sunday (including this coming Sunday) at Beco Bar, 45 Richardson St. in Williamsburg, Brooklyn - and that's an open session - bring your instruments!

Giveaway: I have two pairs of tickets for Ethiopian rock with Jano @ SOBs 204 Varick St. in lower Manhattan this coming Friday at midnight - email Rob, robw AT wfmu DOT org if you would like a pair of tickets. I'll let you know if you're a winner on Monday morning.
