Familiar & forgotten gems from 50-plus years of music on the darker side, shoegaze, synthpop, goth, psychedelia, darkwave, with unapologetic detours into 70s pop. In a dark night of the soul, it's always 3 o'clock in the morning.

Hey Julie, did you ever get to find In The Dark by Magazine? It appears on their CD release of Magic, Murder and the Weather
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 4:10am Julie:

No! I didn't remember until tonight. I'm very behind
Avatar 4:11am fred von helsing:

Christina ! What's a girl to do ?.......
  4:24am Elliot:

Haha! I had to open up the playlist for that Bleeding Rainbow track to make sure it wasn't MBV...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 4:26am Julie:

  4:27am Marmalade Kitty:

This has to be played very loud.. It's impossible
  4:33am Elliot:

Hi Julie, and good morning from Munich.

Marmalade Kitty: too true! First few songs on Loveless super loud are pretty astounding.
  4:35am Marmalade Kitty:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:08am Matt from Springfield:

Morning Julie!
Endparty, this sounds very European.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 5:09am Julie:

Good morning, Matt!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12am Matt from Springfield:

Awwww :(
RIP, Bosco. The silent co-host of UWTP, yet it will still sound different without him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16am Matt from Springfield:

"Play-a-dees" I think, the "Seven Sisters" of Greek mythology and a constellation in the stars.

Cristina! Love that song, first heard of her version here, after one of those apocalypse predictions flaked out! :)
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 5:20am Julie:

I've yet to check out any of her other songs
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:23am Matt from Springfield:

I did after hearing that one--"Disco Clone" is a disco parody featuring an uncredited, young Kevin Kline, actually her first hit. Also a dancey cover of "Drive My Car".

Ahhh, lovely choice of Nick!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30am Matt from Springfield:

Heh, now these are funny-strange people!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 5:31am Julie:

Yeah, not quite sure about this one!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:38am Matt from Springfield:

Genesis into Camel, nice!
Avatar 5:42am fred von helsing:

whoa, my technodetector just went off
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45am Matt from Springfield:

Technodetector? Do you just unplug that when in a club? Otherwise it would be non-stop, though might blend in with the beat well.
Avatar 5:50am fred von helsing:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52am Matt from Springfield:

and again...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 5:55am Julie:

Thanks for listening you guys, see you next week with Bleeding Rainbow!
Avatar 5:57am fred von helsing:

Ach, mostly-electro like Grimes and Ladytron are boss, it's the repetitive stuff turned up to 11 that turns yer brain into mush
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57am Matt from Springfield:

Like this Gary Numan!

Thanks Julie for another great show! Look forward to the Rainbow blood next week! Have a great Thursday everyone!
Avatar 12:54am Droll:

I see you like your Floyd nice and crispy, too. Honestly, the CD sounds better but you need the LP with the poster of the pyramids, CD sucks fiercely in packaging.

I also can't help but notice you continue to play Progressive Rock Music by Genesis. Of course I love PG and Hackett's 12-string work, but you know the rules. And back-to-back with conspicuous Canterbury Scene progsters Camel?!

Don't you think the station should have a dedicated prog show?
Avatar 10:24am Van in DC:

I'm a little behind. Let's pick up here...
Avatar 11:31am Van in DC:

Oh man, that musical Buffy episode was really fantastic!
