I always heard it called "college rock" through most of the 80s. "Alternative rock" and "modern rock" came into use in the late 80s/early 90s.

I agree with Byrne and Carm. Human error is cool, because then you know it's human radio, vastly superior to machine radio. And I've heard plenty more errors done by voicetracked radio than live human radio, too.

Apparently a new, expanded Talulah Gosh record will be released in October called "Was It All A Dream?"

Skipping CDs or LPs doesn't bothers me, and I can't understand what kind of WFMU listener would care about something like that. Faye, you're still the greatest saturday night soundtrack I can think of.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

How does the random message on the home page go? "Those aren't technical errors, that's our programming." Something to that effect.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16pm

The Rachmaninoff reminded me of "Nature Boy" by Big Star. Mentioned the piece to my mother and she became very interested, apparently she's been working on the piece and showed me the music for it. Looked nuts!
