Yeah PE! That record isn't that bad actually. It kinda sucks as an album because Chuck D repeats himself too much, but it features really great moments.

Pierre or Fred, is "rentrée" the word you guys use for when everyone returns to Paris at the end of August?
Avatar 10:26am
pocket vito:

Oui c'est la rentrée!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26am
fred:

@Liz: Yep. Actually it's the French equivalent to back-to-school, but we seem to have trouble growing up
Avatar 10:28am
braveness23:

Ms 23 and I frequently use "rentrée" to refer to the hazy period after awaking from a nap.
Avatar 10:28am
Benjamen Walker:

I forgive you! this song is awesome
Avatar 10:29am
ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

@Jeezy - went to Afropunk on Saturday and saw the Heavies. BOY the stylee people there were too much! Such great people watching, wish I had my camera, but that would make me seem like a creeper.
Avatar 10:29am
βrian:

I think the best time to travel in France is after the rentrée. Things settle down, and it's not a zoo in the south.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32am
Liz Berg:

New favorite word: rentrée! Perfect use, B23!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33am
fred:

βrian nailed it: If you want to visit Southern France, do avoid July and August. Locals will be friendlier, and you will save an arm or a leg.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:38am
fred:

@RTD: do go and see them, and introduce yourself. Pierre would be thrilled
  10:40am
pierre:

@ RTD : Say hi to them for me ! (that live set was very nice)

@ Liz : I conccur with all that has been said. Ususally it's called "rentrée des classes", often shortened as "rentrée"
Avatar 10:40am
braveness23:

Honestly I didn't know it was a french word. We pronounce it "re-entry" as in descending from a high orbit. It works, though, doesn't it?

My mom was a french teacher when I was a child, though, so there are all kinds of french words and pronunciations in my vocabulary that must have come from that.
Avatar 10:43am
Jeezy:

@ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ Ooooh nice! Yeah it's a great area. I use the pool right there all the time. The people watching was indeed a treat. I was doin' mad creepin, as the kids say!

@RTD: don't miss the opening band, BCBG is great too
Avatar 10:47am

This is Liarsy, I like it.
  10:48am
pierre:

@ B23 : I like your definition better
Avatar 10:48am
Rev. Turnip Druid:

Will do, Fred/Pierre. I'll be opening for the opening, so with luck they won't all run out of there & become violently ill.
Avatar 10:51am

Revivree: returning to a show after you've fled.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59am
fred:

@RTD: try to set aside some time to chat with them. They're people worth knowing, they could be precious if you come back to Paris someday, and they're just worth knowing. Especially Mariette, don't miss that chance, both of you could grow from such an encounter.
Avatar 10:59am

...and here's the traditional time when I insert myself in a playlist conversation to plug some photos.

Because I've got some of Opale and BCBG when they were at the station, starting right here:

...and continuing to the right.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08am

  11:10am
pierre:

@ Jeff : you're photos are great ! (just a beautiful reminder of how much I would have loved to accompany my friends there)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11am
fred:

@FVH: that was my first thought on seeing her (meaning Zola Jesus) I may be totally misguided, it wouldn't be the first time. Anyway Zola Jesus is totally must-see. She's going to be too expensive for me in the future, I'm glad I could see her when I could afford it

@Carmichael - my wife mentioned to me that the FB world was all lit up last night about the VMA's....makes me glad I don't have cable, otherwise she might have turned it on to see what the fuss was about.
Avatar 11:25am

@RTD: You know: Cyrus. The Persian king.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31am

@Jeff: does that mean there's a BCBG set in the station's future? That would be awesome
Avatar 11:32am

Googled for a list of historical Persian kings. By far I prefer the name Zabshali [c. 2050 - c. 2000 BC]. I will name all my dozens of non-existant children Zabshali.
