Happy Wednesday everyone. Wonder how the track name "Pizza Guy" came about? Not what I would think to call this song, but then again, it is lunch time right now.

Can anyone here recommend a place that repairs VINTAGE audio equipment? I've found only two places in the NYC area and both have extremely s
ketchy reviews.

I like this Pizza Guy song. From what year is this?

repair place for vintage audio equip?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm

vintage audio...hmm...we used to bring alot of stuff to EARS (Expert Audio Repair Services). We use Fuchs Audio alot these days. B3's used to go to Pennsylvania to Speakeasy, or this guy Mike Casino.

Avatar 12:34pm

Dolly is ridiculously talented.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm

@JTE - I'd definitely check with Clay on that. Seems like whoever fixes his tape decks would be the right man for the job.
Avatar 12:35pm
Gwendolyn Macrae:

I totally LOVE Dolly Parton's really early stuff she sang when she was really young.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm
Kat in Chicago:

Oh cool, thanks Duane. I bought a Gifted & Blessed record recently, 4 tracks, name escapes me just now but it's good!
Avatar 12:36pm
Gwendolyn Macrae:

It was so dark and depressing and beautiful. Songs about suicide and child murder and what not, but sang with the voice of an angel.
Avatar 12:37pm
Cecile:

Gwen, ITA. Her cover of Mule Skinner Blues kills. And I think she was the first woman to sing it on record at the time.
Avatar 12:38pm
steve:

JTE - try The Analog Lab... as reputable a repair shop as you can find. they don't do much tape stuff these days but its worth a shot.
Avatar 12:38pm
Gwendolyn Macrae:

Yeah! I've heard that as well. She has so much energy on that one. I just love her voice, it's so unique. My personal favs are Girl Left Alone, Little Blossom, and It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels
Avatar 12:39pm

oops... didnt see Mike East's post... EARS is now The Analog Lab

@steve - a friend of mine just took an electronics workshop there. He made his own custom DI box for his project.

Avatar 12:44pm

nice! ive actually been working there part time for a year (im there every friday) to help them with top secret new product development
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm

these days, I'd say the moog voyager is the most common keyboard used for low bass.

Jennique: Never been to DollyWood. Tried to go in '00 while road trippin..but we got "Wally Worlded..it was close for repairs..DAMN!
Avatar 12:49pm
Eli:

@Cecile, there are some great lower priced fun options these days like the Moog Minitaur (huge bass, but a module, you'd need a controller) and the Arturia Minibrute. I'm a longtime synth snob and have some of the big boys, but I LOVE my minibrute. Extremely hands on and creative. Might be complex at first, but you'll have hours of fun using it and it can make huge bass...
Avatar 12:50pm

Loving this set today, D.
Avatar 12:52pm

This is quite a midnight groove. I might have to turn down the lights in my office...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm

Damn, getting Wally Worlded at Dollywood? You got Rodney Dangerfielded, Duane. No respect.
Avatar 12:53pm
steve:

Mike - Doug has his own thing now but stops by occasionally. my understanding is he just repairs amps, PAs, other things we're not too excited about... the Analog Lab pretty much just does vintage synths, effects, etc. now - the good stuff. pretty amazing place to hang out.

Avatar 1:05pm

Man, Camille's face looks very familiar...

And the comments board order is screwing with my mind, because the Dollywood question followed closely by Steve talking about his part-time job for a moment made me think Steve worked at Dollywood... It was a fun moment, though.

she kinda looks like milla jovovich but that's the only way i've ever seen milla jovovich emote, so. maybe that's it.
Avatar 1:09pm

also on the subject, i have not been to dollywood, but i have been to dixie stampede. it's weird. it does end with dolly in red white and blue sequins singing "america the beautiful" on a jumbotron-esque screen though.
