A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

there' s a brewery in nova scotia called propeller. they brew both beer and soft drinks, which i think is a bit unusual. are their others?

I look forward to the Steeler playoff buffets. To say they are overflowing is to do them injustice. And the whole damn town is covered in black and gold streamers.

There sure are, glenn. There is a brewery in Milwaukee that started with root beer and moved to beer.

Being a kid in California, we did the A&W drive-thru thing. I remember the commercials in the 70's where people would hold the can with their thumb and pinky to make it look as if they had a glass mug. I spent lots of time as a kid trying to do that.
Avatar 11:21am
Cecile:

hahahahaha, jenn.
I loved those cold glass mugs. Root beer is the only "brown pop" I like.

"thumb and pinky" funny, never saw that but now I want to try it.

I only found out this year that locals pronounce "Latrobe" with a long "a". Who knew?

All are delicious - I almost never drink pop because I'd rather save the calories for booze, but a good glass of pop is pretty special.

well, bitter is a beer. bitters is a digestif. which are you referring to?

"...from the glass-lined banks of the Latrobe river..."

wait, I think I may have gotten something wrong there.

Si !

no, it's pretty medium in the hop department, interstingly enough.

English Bitter has some bite, but doesn't usually seem to go overboard with the hops to the extent of smelling like a christmass tree.

Thx Jeff. Tasty maybe w/ fairly low ABV. glenn says sweet...
...Someone gave me a Moxie not too long ago. The rep is they taste nasty - I thot it wasn't so bad w/ the gentian - rooty taste - better than a malted battery-acid Cola far as I'm concerned.
