Favoriting Seven Second Delay with Andy and Ken: Playlist from September 11, 2013 Favoriting

The program formerly known as Dinner at Andy's, The Fuzzy Glove Hour, Whores, and The Happiness Hut. Ken and Andy, also known as The Enema Boys, further lower WFMU's already abysmal standards on a weekly basis. Stunt radio which subjects the radio audience to concepts and topics which mature adults should not have to endure. Find the fatal flaw. (Visit homepage.)

If you've got a time machine you can save Lincoln after the Monkees show.
First things first.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:12pm
davex:

If you had a time machine, you could go back and see and change everything. But you can't have a time machine.

Had tickets to a Sigur Ros show, but feeling down that day I just stayed in bed instead.

How about bringing a future newspaper along to the Titanic boarding?

Good reception for an elevator.

I've had tix for many concerts I wanted to see where something came up where I had to miss the show.
Avatar 6:16pm
Carmichael:

My time machine would take me to the Stones' hundredth anniversary tour.
Avatar 6:18pm
hamburger:

I guess to tie in with the show, greatest concert never seen would be Andy's opening act for the Human League
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:19pm
Mike East:

Isn't that the lou reed album that they recorded with the helmet mic?
Avatar 6:20pm
glenn:

i would go to the shows that humble pie recorded for rockin' the fillmore. best live album ever.
  6:20pm
conrad:

The song actually is called "Lady Day." (Don't know if it's about Billie Holiday tho.)

MrFab:

I won tix to see the Gun Club, but it was at a venue pretty far away, and my friend with a car couldn't borrow it from his mother that nite.

see? humble pie. told ya.

The best concert I never attended was when Spock was jamming with the space hippies. The lead singer from the Good ol' Boys sang "Headin' Out to Eden", and Spock was playing the bicycle spokes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30pm
Mike East:

I thought that was you for a second, glenn
Avatar 6:31pm
glenn:

naw. when i call in, it'll be to clay's show. i don't know what i'll say when he asks me if i love america.

I regret never seeing ABBA.
Avatar 6:33pm
YETI BOB:

say what you will about his songwriting, but Paul McCartney was an amazing bassist
Avatar 6:34pm
Fredericks:

Andy is disconcertingly friendly. This survey thing must be weighing on him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34pm
davex:

Can we call in and just take the survey?
  6:34pm
Hackensack Slim:

It's a toss-up. Louie Prima in Vegas in the late 50's. Late show with the Rat Pack in the audience. Stooges during the recording of Metallic KO. (Ann Arbor I think.) Either or.
Avatar 6:35pm
glenn:

what was? he's still got it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:36pm
amanda c:

i really just want to take the survey
Avatar 6:37pm

Pop-up stream is popping.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:38pm

Avatar 6:38pm

I did use the "2" joke. It flopped.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:38pm

restarted pop up and the stream is flowing again
Avatar 6:40pm

This is fantastic!

dc waters:

Andy doesn't tolerate anyone funnier than he? What then does that imply about Ken?
  6:41pm
dc waters:

Evan's funnier than Andy, so he can't take the call.
Avatar 6:42pm
Fredericks:

Much better than the self hating 2 joke.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:45pm
amanda c:

this is turning into a really hilarious idea by calling back people who filled out the survey
  6:48pm
Michael:

I assumed that the customer survey was going to be the point of the show, and the concert question just cover for that...then I wondered if the survey stuff was just cover for a Milgram-like authority/pain experiment...then I realised that that might be true of the entire show....
Avatar 6:48pm
Fredericks:

This is what I always wish would happen when I fill those cards out. Most probably just get run through a scanner robot of some sort.

Listening for years and he's still listening. It can't piss him off that much.

These 'callers' sound an awful lot like Scharpling's.

Bronwyn for the third host?
Avatar 6:52pm

This is the best SSD I can recall.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:52pm

went to a p.i.l. concert once - friend couldn't take pot smoke and had to leave after first song. he was my ride, so...

..and be yourselves

This and last week were two of the best shows in years . I think it's because they gave callers a chance to be quite witty without implicitly inciting them to get off zingers (so it gave them a chance to be funny, but noo too funny...). Maybe that's the secret of a good show.
  4:31pm
Marie:

Hey there Ken and Andy. I got the plate (was beginning to think it wouldn't happen). It is truly magisterial and will provide me with small doses of good feeling that shrink with time. But seriously, i love it and will get a plate display thingy. Tx.
