Listener comments!

Avatar 1:37pm kat330:

Hi 5-ash!

After some grueling labor this a.m. in both home & garden on minimal sleep, I'm hoping your show's strains will send me soothing sweet dreams in nappyland—or at least some fine toe-tappin' in a prone position. (I'll try to log back in to properly thank you in the end provided the vibe's good here and I don't oversleep. ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm Matt F:

Hi kat330- Fair warning: the first set isn't shaping up to be particularly soothing!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm Stanley:

I'm up for a bit o' shit kickin' stuff, myself.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm Parq:

Kat, that's it, I'm changing the name of my autobiography to "Toe Tapping in a Prone Position."

Avatar 2:04pm Ted Barron:

This Ohio Express 45 is one of the first records I played obsessively over and over at the tender age of 6.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm Matt F:

Ted, that explains a lot...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm fleep:

Doot doot doot - dootdoot. Doot doot doot - dootdoot.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm Artie:

Avatar 2:10pm Ted Barron:

I recognized it instantly, but couldn't put my finger on it til the chorus came. I thinks it's part of my DNA.

Favorite S.E. Rogie song title: Man Stupid Being
  2:41pm Paul Sherratt:

This ( S. E ) is the second on the show that I somehow ended up ferrying around the UK. The first was the remarkable LaVern Baker. Thanks for the reminder ! (Also had a lovely dog named Louie Louie)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm Uncle Michael:

j. p. keith is pretty great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm Matt F:

Nice guy too, I met him in Memphis through a mutual friend some years ago. He's coming to NYC late Oct, I think.
Avatar 2:54pm glenn:

24th and 25th, according to his website, which also seems pretty great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Matt F:

This brand new JPK album was produced by Roland Janes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Uncle Michael:

Matt...got anything to be bright-eyed for tomorrow?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Matt F:

I could go till 10 PM.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Matt F:

UK Time.
Avatar 2:57pm glenn:

by the bye, my fair country's retardo right wing guvmint is trying to pass a law that would charge foreign artists 425$ PER BAND MEMBER to enter canada. fuckheads. anyway, here's a petition.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Doug Schulkind:

My Lonnie Holley tickets just arrived in the mail. Wahoo!
Avatar 2:59pm northguineahills:

This song reminds me of elephants.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:01pm Uncle Michael:

glenn, from what I've read...it's much, much worse than an entry fee.
Avatar 3:01pm Mailman Tom:

It's always a joy and a pleasure to listen to your show, Matt!
Avatar 3:02pm glenn:

re: roland janes - johnpaulkeith.tumblr.com...
Avatar 3:03pm glenn:

ya know, i love my country, but i've never been more ashamed and embarassed to be a canuck since these fucking douchenozzles came to power.
Avatar 3:06pm northguineahills:

You have loooong ways to go before you're as ashamed as us Yanks are.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm Matt F:

Thanks Mailman Tom, that's very kind.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm Artie:

@Doug: Prepare to set yourself into a gumbo-ish manner.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm Doug Schulkind:

You would have received full credit if you'd spelled it gumboish.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm Artie:

Got to mash it all together, eh? Guessing Lonnie don't mind.
  3:17pm trish:

Lots of tv talking heads up top there in the Conservative party of Canada. A whole lotta ecch.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm listener james from westwood:

"gumboid" would just have conjured a little green guy.
  3:19pm trish:

TV-toothed environment minister was dumb as a doorstop. The new one sounds about the same.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm Doug Schulkind:

In South Africa, they have a style of dancing called gumboot.
Avatar 3:22pm glenn:

pride of the hammer.
Avatar 3:23pm ndbob:

afternoon Matt and everyone
  3:23pm trish:

"Solve a problem? Yeah, let's the PR team on it. Route everything through them. They're not bright, but boy can they bullshit for the microphones."
Avatar 3:27pm glenn:

they're all morons.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm Uncle Michael:

I'm making a sauce gumboise.
  3:28pm trish:

"... no one will ever notice."
Avatar 3:28pm glenn:

oh, and let us not forget the science minister who believed in creationism.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:30pm Stanley:

  3:31pm Lore:

Papa doesn't sound terribly worried about his fate.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm Matt F:

Sounds pretty resigned about the whole thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm Stanley:

@Lore - I could think of worse ways to go.
  3:33pm trish:

It took lenghty and sustained international effort to prevent the lowlifes from closing a world renowned and historic water research centre. That they even considered shutting it down.. fucking dumbfucks.
Avatar 3:35pm glenn:

oh, and also trish: vic toews.
  3:39pm trish:

They 'led' Canada to be the first and only country to withdraw from the UN Drought Convention. Their children must be so proud.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm listener james from westwood:

so much for fleeing to canada or australia. how's new zealand's government these days? i hear the entry hurdles are high.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm Uncle Michael:

You have to learn to do a haka.
Avatar 3:42pm kat330:

@Matt: 30 mins. of prone (but vigorous) toe-tapping indeed. Then I found myself astride a horse on a trail with the 3 amigos who were whistling so fine. We came across some baby elephants walking up the trail, which caused my horse to whinny loudly and buck me. I fell off into the strong arms of Elvis, who seemed to be caught in a bear trap. We exchanged some words, which might have led to something else, but then the damn doorbell woke me up. :/

IAE, thank you, Matt, for the happy trails!

@Parq: Have at! Mine is either "Kathleen, with a K" or "Taking and Giving Care." ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm Stanley:

We get a chance to vote for independence next year here in Scotland. Maybe we'll become a liberal beacon of freedom and justice for the world. Maybe not.
Avatar 3:47pm Monica:

yo, matt! nose to grindstone but still listening and enjoying!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm Uncle Michael:

I'm just picturing a Scots castle siege with a trebuchet and several tons of spoiled haggis.
Avatar 3:53pm ndbob:

excellent show Matt!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55pm Matt F:

kat, sounds like a rousing nap. Yo Mo! Yomo? YOLO?
Avatar 3:57pm still b/p:

Ska Bonanza was my favorite TV show. Hoss danced well for a big man.
Avatar 3:57pm kat330:

Well, it wasn't Elvis at the door (just our delivery of Homeland's 2nd season), bummer. But enough came through subliminally that I've decided on a southwestern meal for tonight and took me down a can of beans (no 3 Amigos reenactment in my dreams at least ;).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm Uncle Michael:

Thanks for the show, Matt. You nourish my soul.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm listener james from westwood:

stupid 4 pm! why did you come so swiftly?!
thanks a ton for the great show, matt!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Matt F:

Fanks UM! Fanks everyone else too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm Doug Schulkind:

YOMO = You Only Matt Once (a week)!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm Stanley:

Oh woe! It's all over too soon.
Terrific show, Matt.
Thanks and stay cool won't ya!
