Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Thanks for listening to this episode of the Dusty Show. Not sure where you stand on gun control or exactly where I stand, either. These mass shooting situations, and gun violence in America seem out of hand, and Washington has little intention of acting on it. It's discouraging. That said, I do like to gather opinions on the street about such topics, since it seems all we see on the news is politicians carefully dancing around the subject. People in the real world generally seem to have more rational ways of looking at things. Most of the time anyway. Again, thanks for listening. Not an elaborate playlist, admittedly. Sometimes I'm just playing catch up. Take care dear listener and ... always remember.

to some extent, the question is, why is a document (the constitution) that was relevant 250 years ago relevant now? change it if it suits the times, i say.

Weird! My comments from the app on my iPhone did t come thru...worked this morning...HELLO!
Avatar 6:11pm
Matt from Springfield:

@glenn: America has a strong tradition of our written Constitution--it has changed, but as a whole helped us evolve into what we are. Even when we want changes to it, we don't want change *too* quickly; have to keep what's good and not throw that off.

i wish whenever anyone on US tv news asked anyone about guns, or health care, they would first point out the abundance of free health care and lack of gun related deaths in every other 1st world democracy. what is the deal with that
Avatar 6:47pm
Night Al:

Dark Star...my first real band. We played my mom's wedding reception in 1976, our only paying gig. Taylor, Michigan...we played Grover Washington Jr's song Mr. Magic and some originals.

There ain't no "free" lunch - but health care is way more accessible in Canada than the US. Money keeps it locked up in the hands of fewer people here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:52pm
Mike East:

yeah, and when your company decides they can't afford to provide a health care plan anymore, it leaves the employees stranded in an ocean of bullshit options.
Avatar 6:52pm
steve:

you're right glenn - how about "health care that is paid for by taxes and, overall, costs less per capita than US health care tax costs per individual, before the US individual even starts paying for his own private health insurace"
Avatar 6:53pm

Has that happened to you, Mike?

This song always takes me back to Brigentine Castle (in NJ) even though this is not the version they played there. I had begged to go there for years, lured by the strange short commercials with bits of this song; I was obsessed. When I finally got there in october to this 'castle' on a pier on an empty beach blaring this song. I held steady to the door handle petrified as my sister tried to pry me off the car. Eventually she was successful and it was all worth it. Thanks for the memory Clay Pigeon!
