Man...Bertha Lou is a favorite, right down to my apple eater feet!
Avatar 1:18pm Reeshard:

Every time I listen to the program I learn something new. Never knew that the Del-Mars "Snacky Poo" was a clone of "Bertha Lou."
Avatar 1:24pm Andy in Berlin:

@ Rev Phil - you forgot to mention that Frank Zappa did the music for the film.
Avatar 1:29pm Reeshard:

Rex, was Bobby Hodge the first guy to cut "Alligator Man"? It's one of those songs that attracts cover versions (Sal Valentino, Alex Chilton et al).
  1:32pm RevPhil:

@Andy in Berlin-Thank for the info. I never knew that.
Avatar 1:35pm ken in denver:

  2:24pm Don F.:

Frankie and Johnnie went twistin'. Then what happened?
  2:27pm Shparky:

Hot Guitar! Don't know which song it was... but from now on when my guitar player is about to rip a solo... the intro will be "Hot Guitar!".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm Mike East:

  2:41pm Listener Jumpy in Brooklyn:

  2:50pm Don F.:

Another tailfeather masterpiece!
Avatar 2:50pm David Shortell:

I heard Tommy James interviewed on the preceding program. I wonder if he knows of that Gene Jones song?
Avatar 2:55pm Andy in Berlin:

@ Rev Phil - if you go on youtube and type in Frank Zappa + Steve Allen there's a hilarious clip with Zappa on the Steve Allen Show where he talks about the movie but mostly plays a bicycle.
  3:01pm Don F.:
