Magnificent multi-culti sounds of NYC: Four bands live from Barbes in Park Slope!
Join Rob and illustrious co-host / tech guru Irene Trudel at Barbes, the music-lover's
haven at 9th St and 6th Ave in Park Slope, Brooklyn for another
jam-packed night of live music. Admission is free (though bands may pass the hat) and we'll be giving away free FMU swag, so get in on the action in person or over the airwaves. Get there early to beat the crowds and get the best selection of FMU swag!
Tonight's stellar lineup proves once
again that when it comes to seeing and hearing amazing music from
around the world, there's no better place than right here in NYC:
- Sharabi: Visionary masterminds Frank
London (trumpet) and Deep
Singh (dhol) join with Jeremiah Lockwood (guitar), Ron Caswell (tuba) and Michael Winograd (clarinet) to take South Asian music places it's never gone before
- Mireya
Ramos and Mariachi Flor de
Toloache: New York's fabulous (and first-ever) all-women's
mariachi band
- Uri Sharlin (accordion) and
Kinan Azmeh (clarinet): Two
virtuosic Middle-Easterners join forces in NYC
- Diego Obregon and Grupo
Chonta: Masterful marimba traditions from Colombia's Pacific coast
Admission is free (though bands may pass the hat) and we'll be
giving away lots of free FMU swag, so get in on the action in person
or over the airwaves.
