Hey Fiveash, What you doin' uptown?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm Matt F:

And why do I have 26 dollars in my hand?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm Parq:

Oh, it's heartbreaking. Do you realize the Red Sox haven't won a World Series in almost fifteen hours?
  2:04pm KRISTIN:

is this the doors?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm Matt F:

The killer awoke at dawn...
Avatar 2:07pm glenn:

yep. my cards lost, and i was having a really bad day until 11:3O this morning. and then..........
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm Matt F:

Parq, I know, how much longer do us long suffering fans have to wait?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm listener james from westwood:

howdy, matt and all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm Uncle Michael:

Chet Helms is wondering what he got himself into about now....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm Matt F:

what happened at 11:30, glenn? Hi LJFW!
Avatar 2:09pm glenn:

toronto's chief of popo announced that they are in possession of the rob ford crack video.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm Matt F:

No more living in the shadow of Washington DC and Detroit! Congrats!
  2:11pm Nashville Pappy:

Who gave Link the 'luudes??
Avatar 2:11pm glenn:

and there may be counsel to commit murder charges coming.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm Matt F:

Sister Wray!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Matt F:

Also thank you for the correct spelling of "'luudes"
  2:14pm Nashville Pappy:

I'm no 'luudite.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm Jeff Golick:

Hi, boo, etc.
I always thought the Vol. 1 on this set was wildly optimistic. Though also tantalizing.
VU = the only group I ever bought bootlegs for (in the pre-internet LP age, anyway).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm Matt F:

The Cards were looking for the baseball/I said they couldn't hit it sideways...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Matt F:

Nice one, Luudewig Van Beethoven.
  2:16pm Nashville Pappy:

The only thing this stuff is gonna replace is Sonny and Cher.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Matt F:

Woooo! Thanks Andy S. for the pledge! 96%!
Avatar 2:17pm glenn:

i have a v.u. bootleg too, although i think it's somewhat semi legal. it's a 3 albumbox set of old lou songs, and alternate takes. it's pretty good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Matt F:

Some of the bootlegs, and those odds & ends Lps (Another View & VU) are the best illustration of what a great rock & roll band the Velvets were.
Avatar 2:21pm Brian in UK:

Hello Matt.
Ever sat behind the wheel of the Honda Quaalude you are there before you leave.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Matt F:

Was that the model of the scooter that a bemulleted Lou did those ads for in the 80s?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Jeff Golick:

Those releases -- VU and ANOTHER VIEW -- could not have come along at a better time for me (mid-1980s). I was just starting to get into it, all of it, and it was as if they landed (like electricity) from a different planet. Went deep down the rabbit hole...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm Jeff Golick:

Honda Elite: www.openculture.com...
Avatar 2:30pm Dominick:

Wow, just wow!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30pm Matt F:

GOOOOOOAL! Thanks Ted Barron! Putting aside our baseball differences for Rock & Roll!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm listener james from westwood:

woo-hoo!!! congrats!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm listener james from westwood:

lou reed was also in this early-80s film that like 12 people saw, "get crazy," as an old rocker being endlessly taxi-cabbed to the venue for a new year's rock show. if he does arrive, it's like at the very end of the film.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm Jeff Golick:

Look at that dog's tail go!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm Matt F:

The Ted that wags the dog.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:36pm MattBelow:

Pledge for Lou-Lou
Avatar 2:37pm Ted Barron:

You are welcome, Matt. My life was saved by rock n roll. And it's true, the Cards couldn't hit it sideways, but like I told you this morning: I hate the Red Sox.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm Matt F:

Thanks Matt, and thanks Thomas for your pledges! Ted, this & 2004 means we are now even for what your cards did to Teddy Ballgame and Yaz. I think we all knew that it was all over with ZZ Top's beard-solidarity endorsement of the Sox before the series.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm Matt F:

Co-worker and friend Sara H with another pledge! Holy mackerel! Thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm Gary:

Heavy day at work, so I'm going to have to listen to the archive this evening -- can't wait!
Avatar 2:48pm Brian in UK:

When's the cello solo? Guessing Cale is still in the band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm Matt F:

Nope, it's Doug (Yule, not Schulkind)
Avatar 2:53pm Brian in UK:

Was it this early? Wow.
Who loves the stream
Who cares that it plays records
Who cares what it's done
Since you hit the goal
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm MattBelow:

Cale is vintage violencing, nick drake-ing and bein a plain ol stooge!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm Jeff Golick:

Gotta run, but thanks for the LOUmeries!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Matt F:

Thanks Jeff. Run Run Run!
Avatar 3:00pm Brian in UK:

First trick or treater knocked. I have prepared the cellar. Sounds of maniacal laughter off.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm listener james from westwood:

sterling hayden?! wouldn't he have been concerned about lou's purity of bodily fluids?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm Doug Schulkind (not Yule):

OK then. Vacuum off, Fiveash ON ON ON!
  3:11pm KRISTIN:

I made it through high school without killing myself thanks to this song:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm sugarwolf:

Don't forget the Metro which claimed Lou Reed made an album with Lulu.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm Matt F:

"To Sir With Hate"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm Parq:

Only about 3,000 people bought "Metal Machine Music", but every single one of them started a manufacturing plant.
Avatar 3:14pm Ted Barron:

Live at Wash U, recorded down the street from my house the week I turned 4. Unfortunately I was unable to attend.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm Matt F:

I like Lou's spoken intro to this version where he explains the story to the audience like he's Pete Seeger or something.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm Stanley:

I made it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Matt F:

Speaking of MMM, I implore you all to check the archive of Brian Turner's show from 2 days ago. He played some killer Velvets deep cuts/bootlegs/etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm Matt F:

Well Ted, most people's lives aren't saved by Rock & Roll until they're just 5 years old, so it stands to reason.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm Parq:

You know, I was gonna say this version of "Ray" sounds like the Modern Lovers even before I heard the organ break.
  3:18pm Jenny:

I was saved and still am!
  3:25pm Lore:

With apologies to Rod Bernard, this should go on forever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm Matt F:

Lore, should? It does!
Avatar 3:34pm Brian in UK:

@parq nice one paraphrasing Sir Brian.

@Stanley what have you made. By the by there is a Louise Bourgeois exhibition in your city.
  3:36pm The Ess-Dog:

Is that Jenny from Georgia?...hmmmm
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm MattBelow:

Right on
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm Stanley:

@Brian - now I've eaten it. Thanks for the exhibition info. If there'll be giant spiders I'll be there.
  3:44pm jt:

How did the V.U. make that PSSSSSSssssssssssst? sound?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm Matt F:

How? Oh wait, are you gonna deliver a punchline or are you asking a question?
  3:48pm jt:

Yeah, I really wanna know! Surely one of you experts can tell me...
Avatar 3:50pm ken in denver:

Today's program is brought to you by Ding Dongs.
  3:51pm Hackensack Slim:

Lou Lou!!!! Ed Norton, Brooklyn NY 1958.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Parq:

Only about 3,000 people bought these bootlegs, but every single one of them sucked -- oh, never mind.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm Uncle Michael:

Thanks for the show, Matt. Go tell the Sox to shave.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm listener james from westwood:

this playlist is positively bryce-ian in length!
smashing meditation on "sister ray," matt!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm Matt F:

Ding Dong, the show is dead! Thanks everybody, see you in 2 weeks.
