I have seen a few theoretical girls myself.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19am
Brian in UK:

Was it Glenn Branca that had many guitars playing at once?
Avatar 4:20am
Bill Mac:

@Lamont - Are you also Benny Hill?
  4:22am
Lamont:

No just me. Up earlier than ever to listen in some ... didn't hurt as much as I thought it might!
Avatar 4:22am
Looms:

@Brian: G Blanca is indeed. btw one of the more boring concert I ever attended.
Avatar 4:23am
Looms:

i meant "most" boring concert.
Avatar 4:24am
Bill Mac:

What, the waking up early or waking up and listenin' in?
Avatar 4:25am
Andy in Berlin:

@Brian, Glenn had his "guitar symphonies" but Rhys Chatham is the one who does the 100 and 200 guitar extravaganzas.
Avatar 4:26am
Bill Mac:

What's the deal with Branca? Just no variation from one piece to another?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:27am
Brian in UK:

@Looms like a wall of sounds but not as sexy as Spector or dull as Floyd.
Avatar 4:27am
Andy in Berlin:

Well Evan Lurie once told me that after Glenn Branca did his 4th Symphony, he went on tour in Europe and played the same stuff and called it his 5th Symphony.
Avatar 4:28am
Bill Mac:

Thanks to Artemii from Moscow for his donation to Zzzzzzero Hour and WFMU. Much appreciated!!!
Avatar 4:29am
Looms:

Imagine 8 guitar players reading their scores and looking like being bored; and so was the audience.
Avatar 4:30am
Andy in Berlin:

@ Bill - Theoretical Girls was actually the band of a guy named Jeff Lohn. Glenn Branca was one of the guitarists.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31am
Brian in UK:

Though the goalposts move the ball still hits the back of the net.
Avatar 4:32am
Andy in Berlin:

@ Looms - go see Rhys Chatham then. The only complaint I had with his show was, considering the artillery, it wasn't as loud as one would have expected/hoped. Now Band of Susans, with only 4 people, basically had me deaf for 3 days.:)
Avatar 4:37am
Looms:

Andy, I already saw Rhys Chatham and enjoyed the show. Way more spontaneous.
  4:37am
Lamont:

Blue Tattoos!!! Feel Like Debbie Boon - geez haven't heard that for 35 yrs
Avatar 4:41am
Andy in Berlin:

@Looms - yeah, he's great - I just was expecting the volume to literally blow me through the back wall and they were just being a bit too...cautious? :)
But what was particularly interesting was a) just seeing all the different kinds of guitars, and b) just all the different ways that all these people moved as they played. Nobody was bored on either side of the stage.
Avatar 4:45am
Bill Mac:

it think one or two guys from the station might've been invited to play the NY shows.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49am
Stanley:

Mornin' all. Darn that hour thing.
Nothing like a bit of reggie to get me started.
Avatar 4:49am
Bill Mac:

@Lamont Believe it or not I had every intention of playing that tonight. Reminded me of good times.
Avatar 4:50am
Looms:

Andy, I agree, everyone on stage was happy to be here. Maybe they were just not allowed to play as loud as they wished.
Avatar 4:51am
Bill Mac:

Stanley, ya slug!
Avatar 4:51am
Andy in Berlin:

@ Looms - I saw it in a church, and maybe they were told to please not wreck the place :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52am
Brian in UK:

Need some warm dub bass today. Keith Hudson's Brand is special.
Avatar 4:55am
Bill Mac:

I wanna extend a special thanks to KP for once again upping his pledge!!! Appreciate all your support!!!!
Avatar 4:55am
Bill Mac:

@Andy Love shows like that - have fun but pick up after yrself when yr finished.
@Brian - Keith Hudson you say?
Avatar 5:02am
Looms:

@Andy: if they had wrecked it out, they might have had to go on with the tour under the name of Rhys Shathan and friends.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:06am
Stanley:

I've thoroughly enjoyed the tributes to Lou and VU over the last week. Heard a lot of stuff not familiar with plus, I dunno, perhaps a dozen versions of Sister Ray. Tributes for some people should perhaps be aired while they are still alive!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:08am
Brian in UK:

Totally agree Stanley, same happened for Kevin Ayres.
Avatar 5:14am
Andy in Berlin:

@ Looms - much as I'd have liked to have seen it, shattering a couple of big stain glass windows is arguably not the way to go

Ziggy Stardust is some ways just a regular rock album. But its also a masterpiece.
Avatar 5:23am
Jay/London:

this sounds a bit like i feel love
Avatar 5:24am
Bill Mac:

It's been on my radar of late. I was reading a comment Gira from Swans made about it saying it's the best album ever made, but it's that song in particular that reminds of a buddy of mine.
  5:26am
The Missus:

That Claire Welles song sounded like Ween. Hello to Lamont if you're still out there!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28am
Brian in UK:

Ah childrens favourites. Thanks Bill.
Avatar 5:28am
Bill Mac:

Yeah, I'm diggin the Claire Welles thing. She wrote us last week thanking us for playing her stuff. woot!
  5:28am
Fran:

Hey Bill

I've missed the show for a couple of weeks so how was the mighty Hawkwind and Goblin shows? Thanks for the wonderful Numbers Band track - reminds me of David Thomas's Mirror Man shows which the Kidney Bothers played in. Kidney brothers have a wonderful new CD on ReR called Coal Tattoo - very bluesy and worth checking out. Talking of Ol' Crocus - Pere Ubu in Preston on 12th November. Preston is the base for Claire Welles I think - I wonder if they play together as I Can't Believe Its Not Ubu? So many connections.....
Avatar 5:31am
Bill Mac:

Hi Fran, hate to say it but Hawkwind cancelled. Band members are still fighting over the HW copyright, so Dave Brock decided to cancel til March. How old are these guys anyway? Ubu was great though, caught em last month!
  5:33am
Lamont:

Hey Missus! Still here ...

Whoa that Finis Africae sounded like really good African Headcharge
