I was going to go to lunch but really, who needs it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm Ike:

(I'm guessing I'm not likely to find "SpaceSatan Army" on Soulseek.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm common:

yea, this is great. now i wanna go home and watch fulci movies!

This is fine music to be working in a library to.

Not quite PT, I'm a Library Specialist (no MLS degree)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm Luna:

Oh cool, and hello hello hello.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm Planet Tyler:

Library Specialist sounds better
Avatar 12:19pm Cheri Pi:

Heya Luna, I wonder if we'll hear some Voivod today?
Avatar 12:20pm Cecile:

Specialist means doing the actual work for less pay and title, IME
Avatar 12:21pm Cheri Pi:

Exactly, C$.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm the Master:

My work day is complete. Thank you Mr. Berger.
Avatar 12:23pm Cecile:

weirdly, my computer seized up just now.
I think it was possessed for a little bit.
Avatar 12:24pm Cecile:

Wm, how did YOU score on Ikea or Death?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm tim from champaign:

My wife has an LIS. Her current job is Digital Media Preservationist.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm common:

that sounds like a cool job, tim.
Avatar 12:26pm Wm.:

I am not familiar; I live my own little world, as much as possible. Ikea or Death sounds like some Internet thing...hopefully better than Farmville.
Avatar 12:27pm Cecile:

it is a little quiz. 20 questions. You will find it most amusing.
Avatar 12:28pm Cecile:

Avatar 12:29pm Wm.:

Since I hate Ikea, and long for death, I'm pretty sure how that would turn out. ...
Avatar 12:30pm Cecile:

it's "is it an Ikea product or a death metal band?"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm common:

you are correct, Wm! mornings are for suckers!
  12:30pm Ken of Brooklyn:

RISE!!!!!!!! Awesome show WM< sneaking a listen whilst at work, will be BLASTING the archive later my friend!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31pm tim from champaign:

common - she likes it pretty well. it's a fairly new aspect of librarianship. She gets to work on some pretty cool projects.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31pm common:

good for her, tim! does she need an assistant?
  12:32pm The real question is . .:

___ metal or death metal?
Avatar 12:32pm Cecile:

oh, give it a try, Wm. There are lots of lovely, drooling pictures of black metal bands there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32pm Luna:

My job is similar Cheri Pi. I'm the collections manager for our museum, but do tons and tons of work in the vein of "curator", but they won't give me that title. Blah.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm Mike East:

It could be "Ikea, Death, or NHL player"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm tim from champaign:

Yeah! That's in her 5 year plan, common. Hang in there.
Avatar 12:36pm KP:

Wm. Berger! Welcome~
  12:37pm The real answer is not . . .:

Ikea Metal
Avatar 12:37pm Cheri Pi:

I concur, do eeet Wm! take the test man, and share yiour score. mine was pitifully low.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37pm tim from champaign:

Good point about demos, Wm.
Avatar 12:37pm Cecile:

I actually picked up two more points.
  12:38pm Ken of Brooklyn:

And THANKS for turning me onto Gorduw this week on FB, just ordered a motherlode of stuff from them!
Avatar 12:38pm InBrkly:

I thought the deal with demos was just that it was a rough cut. You probably didn't have studio gear or certain parts worked out. I guess today your computer is your studio and you can deliver a polished release but....
Avatar 12:39pm Cory:

my copy has both titles "Zombi Dawn of the Dead"
Avatar 12:39pm Chris from DC:

Oh yes, Wm. Berger. Good for getting in the mood for Absu tonight.
Avatar 12:41pm Cheri Pi:

We're actually planning a trip to IKEA to pick up some shelving in a week or so, I'll retest after that. On the other hand, I'm seeing Church of Misery Sunday, maybe I should retest after that.
Avatar 12:42pm Cecile:

Cheri, are you and new Mr. Pi pooling your record collections?
Avatar 12:42pm Chris from DC:

Tough, tough choice between Church of Misery and Absu tonight, but I haven't seen the latter yet so...
  12:43pm Daniele:

che bellissima
Avatar 12:45pm Cheri Pi:

No-I thought about doing that but I'm insisting on keeping the music seperate. We're each gonna have our own "cubes" on the new shelving. Mr. Pi the Younger doesn't clean his records and he uses those plastic dustjackets. I hate those things and I'm meticulous about cleaning my records, so it's not the match made in hellfire I was hoping for.
Avatar 12:46pm Cecile:

but your record collections are sharing a home! awwwww.
Avatar 12:46pm Jim:

Chris, I thought Church of Misery canceled their tour?..visa issues
Avatar 12:46pm Cheri Pi:

Hmmmm I wonder if separate cubes might be like the 50's veersion of separate beds, I hope it's not a harbinger of things to come. No they got in Jim!
Avatar 12:47pm Chris from DC:

I had heard that, Jim, but they still seem to be listed. Perhaps the club erred. That would make the choice easier.
Avatar 12:47pm Wm.:

Go for Absu, especially if it's a relatively small venue.
Avatar 12:47pm Jim:

because on their site it says they are canceled..confused
Avatar 12:47pm Cheri Pi:

Choich of Misery got delayed by about a week but it's still on.
Avatar 12:48pm Cecile:

me and Mr. C keep our record collections mostly separate. He needs to be able to find his movie soundtracks, surf records and Alan Parsons LPs at a moment's notice!
Avatar 12:48pm Jim:

Avatar 12:48pm Chris from DC:

It's a relatively tiny venue, so yeah, Absu.
Avatar 12:49pm Cecile:

however, we combined our bank accounts 3 weeks after we started dating...
Avatar 12:50pm Cheri Pi:

Exactly! Other night I was able to reach over with just the tiniest glance and withdraw The Return of Pipecock Jackxon in a split second. I don't want that kinda stuff to change.
Avatar 12:50pm Jim:

I guess NY misses out
Avatar 12:50pm Cecile:

And we've been together, jeezus, 34 years?
Avatar 12:51pm Cheri Pi:

Avatar 1:57pm rr:

The yellow eyes album is fantastic.
Avatar 1:58pm Wm.:

Yellow Eyes are phenomenal; the quality of what they do transcends genre. This album is one of my faves of the year.
Avatar 2:03pm rr:

It has definitely been a highlight for me this year as well.
Avatar 2:07pm ||| HRZ:

Wm., is Eeuwig maybe related to (the now sadly defunct) Smoke? Some mighty raw and pretty furious stuff there. Terrific show as always.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm Planet Tyler:

Well, I'm late to the topic but I'm a Digital Archives Specialist, and an assistant would be nice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Planet Tyler:

Just sayin'
Avatar 2:09pm Wm.:

I I I HRZ, yes, good call! You are paying close attention, my friend! Eeuwig is indeed one of Kenneth / Smoke's new projects, great stuff!
Avatar 2:14pm ||| HRZ:

That's great! Smoke were uber-rad, their sound is unmistakable, hail the Netherlands coven!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Rich in Washington:

I only just recently watched I Spit On Your Grave. It's about what I thought it would be like.
Avatar 2:17pm InBrkly:

Im a mad archivist. Not professionally.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm Rich in Washington:

This is a great show, Wm. Much fun!
Avatar 2:17pm Cecile:

Vetëvrakh is a really metal name.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm common:

hey planet tyler...I'm your guy!
Avatar 2:18pm kirk from beer city usa:

thanks for reminding me of this truly horrible movie, Wm.
Avatar 2:18pm William:

Not an item @ Ikea.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm common:

my friends and i made the mistake of renting i spit on your grave when we were kids...still scarred.
Avatar 2:19pm Cecile:

hahahaahahah, very true wm!
Avatar 2:20pm Wm.:

Yeah not the best movie, I mean in terms of "delivering" on what it seems to promise. And yet, worthy of a remake, as is any old idea these days. There are much, much better rape/revenge pictures.
Avatar 2:21pm Cecile:

MS 45 is a pretty damn intense one.
Avatar 2:21pm Wm.:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Rich in Washington:

Loved Ms 45.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Planet Tyler:

InB - I was always a mad archivist (cassette tapes of WFMU from the late 80's? YES!) but it took a while to get paid for it.
Avatar 2:22pm Wm.:

I really like Baise Moi, too; a much more complex story / film.
Avatar 2:22pm rr:

Ms. 45 is finally getting a cleaned up print release next year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Rich in Washington:

It's about as nihilistic as Driller Killer, only more habit forming (get it?).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm common:

wow! driller killer. nice, rich!
Avatar 2:24pm Wm.:

I do get it, for sure. Somewhere in my show archive, I used that still of her at the party in the nun's habit for a playlist screen cap. I'll let someone else find it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm Rich in Washington:

Driller Killer is all over the cheapo free movie channels because I guess it's lapsed into public domain for some reason.
Avatar 2:25pm Cecile:

nice, rr!
I'm not the biggest fan of the violent horror genre, but that had a really compelling story.

Hey Wm. - I got in late, but I made it - thursdays are my days at my friends brewery, he would´t let me go - nice noise I hear right now!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm Planet Tyler:

Wm. obviously does not need anything done to his cassette tapes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm Rich in Washington:

@Wm: Baise Moi was great! Really insane. Dirty filthy, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm Rich in Washington:

French flicks are weird. Seems like they can be really sexually explicit as long as there's really off-putting violence in it.
Avatar 2:28pm Cecile:

hive mind sound like the dead c of black metal

Baisse Moi was and is boring - even Driller Killer is more entertaining.

I love that kind of ambient black metal, thanx for playing those cassettes, Wm.
Avatar 2:31pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

DANG, I haven't been able to dig the Castle until now. Good to see you back in the chair, WmB, in daylight no less...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm Rich in Washington:

@SCHLOCKMASTER: Maybe so. I haven't seen it in years. I may have watched it on FF, if you know what I mean.

@all of you who love this show: since Wm. is way too polite to ask, please send e-mails with your support of My Castle of Quiet to Ken: mailto:ken@wfmu.org

@ Rich in Washington: Yeah, just forget about it, its really boring. Even the slower of Jess Francos are better.

Avatar 2:42pm Wm.:

Avatar 2:42pm Cecile:

on the plus side, hearing McGasko during the day, and listening to DJ Stashu on archive are great new treats.
Avatar 2:43pm Chris from DC:

This Hydravion sounds almost like one of Fabio's music beds.
Avatar 2:44pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Was thinking the same thing, CfDC - Looking forward to Failure: have had that goddamned "magic fly" talkover bed tune stuck in my head ever since....

I just read through all of this conversation and I´d like to add what I´d see as some of best Revenge flicks ever, not in numerical order:
Death Wish 1 & 2
Day Of The Woman (I Spit On Your Grave)
The Virgin Spring & Last House On The Left (same plot)
I love THE OUTFIT and I like Payback and Man On Fire
Avatar 2:45pm Crankpaw:

Loving the jams, only thing I miss is Diannes wet duck noise effect
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm Planet Tyler:

Schlock- Red White and Blue is 2/3 art flick and 1/3 revenge flick and frakin' great, IMHO
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm Ike:

Schlock, what Pine said at 2:37 is important to note.

Also, I am digging the hell out of this.
Avatar 2:48pm rr:

The House on the Edge of the Park and Straw Dogs (in addition to some of the films already mentioned).
Avatar 2:49pm Wm.:

House at the Edge of the Park - (you don't find out it's a revenge movie until the near end.) I LOVE Baise Moi, btw. Subtle, smart; I find I Spit on Your Grave pretty tedious; we must agree to disagree. Not into the big action blockbusters, though Death Wish is pretty damn cool.
Avatar 2:49pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

god, i thought i was hearing the bassline intro to Lost Johnny for a second there.
Avatar 2:49pm William:

rr, you beat me to it by seconds!~
Avatar 2:50pm ||| HRZ:

Can Rampage be considered a revenge film? Just sayin'...

Ohh, I knew that Straw Dogs would get mentioned, I can´t watch it its Peckinpaws 2nd baddest, worst is Junior Bonner
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm northguineahills:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm Planet Tyler:

I Spit on yr Grave was genuinely creepy... Is Once Upon A Time In The West too mainstream for this list?
Avatar 2:53pm InBrkly:

damn it. had a meeting. I didnt see ms 45 but I liked the vampire flick abel ferrara made. the addiction?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm Planet Tyler:

Avatar 2:56pm InBrkly:

They call her one eye....Thriller.
Avatar 2:56pm Cecile:

High Plains Drifter is kinda awesome.

@Planet Tyler: I´ll watch it
@ Wm. : House at the edge of the park is great, but the better David Hess Flick is HitchHike, its creepy and its got kinda like a revenge motiv too

Thank you Wm.
@InBrkly: Thriller is a lotta fun, especially those over the top sex inserts
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm common:

hitchhike is nuts

@ planet tyler: both Once Upon A Time flics from leone qualify in my mind!
