This may be the most amazing segue into a Fairport Convention song ever. But it works, mate!

Good morning!
Avatar 9:21am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

! : ...'More so than a number of other Motown songs, there is real sentiment and pain behind the song's words. Lyricist Penzabene had just found out his wife was cheating on him with another man. Unable to deal with the pain and unable to stop loving his wife, Penzabene expressed his pain in the lyrics of this song and its follow-up on the Temptations' release schedule, "I Could Never Love Another (After Loving You)". The distraught Penzabene committed suicide on New Year's Eve 1967, a week after the single's release'...

- okay - BeachBoys were better singers than the Beatles - but they also had *more* singers (parts) !...

Fred Katz also did the scores to the Roger Corman cult classics Little Shop of Horrors and Bucket of Blood, which were reused in several other Corman films of the period.
Avatar 🥁 9:52am duke:

Dolphy is doing some really nice work on this cut
Avatar 9:53am Bob Brainen:

Good one Scott. I just read that Corman kept reusing Katz's score for different films, so Katz kept selling him the same score under different names. Ha!
  9:54am scott:

I heard that too, Bob. Sounds like Corman and Katz were kindred spirits!
  10:02am scott:

I haven't seen it myself, but someone has released a limited-edition CD of Katz's Little Shop of Horrors score. I seem to remember that Rhino released an LP version in the '80s. http://www.kritzerland.com/horrors.htm

Wow, That's Steely Dan?! I think they owe royalties to CSN for that one...
Avatar 10:51am Jeezy:

Drat... and that song is nowhere to be found on Spotify.

Fagen singing this one
Surprised these tracks weren't on Can't Buy a Thrill actually

I'm assuming the You Gotta Walk It Like You Talk It trax were before this UK only single (Dallas b/w Sail the Waterway
Avatar 10:54am Jeezy:

Well it seems Donald was close but hadn't fully "found his voice" for this EP... Nonetheless from a musical standpoint it's a tad irritating. Weren't these guys EVER sloppy or raw?! Jealous.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27am Santos L Halper:

Archiving. She Moves Through the Fair lovely as always. Of course that's Sandy, so can't be first album. Holidays I think. Looks like a wonderful show to come...
