Nice start Paul.
@MK Sandinista was my introduction to The Clash, thanks to an uncle, a lot time ago. In my young, confused mind, it was known as Sandalista! for a few weeks. The horror
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm common:

Yep. Yep!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm pacific standard simon:

Hey fred -- when Lennon's "Instant Karma" single was released, I thought it was called "Instant Caramel" -- even walked into a record store and asked for it by name.
  3:12pm jaff:

Can you play some Life Stinks? new band from San Francisco
Avatar 3:15pm fred:

@PSS: that's a good one. It's a good thing we can still laugh at these. I even reused the Sandalista name back when Devandra Banhart and his friends were big over here
  3:16pm Marmalade Kitty:

It's funny! Still.. silly how embarrasing it feels to get it wrong!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...you canna fuel me...there's no Santanista Clause !...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm DJ PB:

Coming up, Jaff!

@everyone else, thanks for listening and commenting!
Avatar 3:18pm fred:

@RRN63: you know that line in the Principia Discordia that reads "dislexic sells souls to Santa"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...if yer leaves thuh fat basturd some milk & instant caramel 'ee might stuff yer stockin' reel good widda seven-inch - Punk!...

Thanks for filling in for Terre Paul. Happy Hollidays and Rock ON! Viva Sandinista!
Avatar 3:21pm hip:

Loving the selection!!!
Missing Terre a bit less. :-)

Thanx Paul!
Avatar 3:23pm fred:

@MK: look what your typo spawned! No reason to be embarrassed
  3:25pm mario:

love Connections! stoked to hear life stinks too, been meaning to check it out.

Great show so far, PB!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...back to Werk - leave y'all alone again 'til the last bit!...
Avatar 3:31pm hip:

@PaulBruno. Already have a program at WFMU?
a) Yes. -> When? I'm missing some great moments.
b) No. -> What are you/they/we waiting for?
Avatar 3:34pm fred:

@hip: I've nagged him about it before, he said he wasn't interested in a regular spot. I welcome your help in changing his mind
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm Mike East:

I agree. A weekly Paul Bruno show would be welcome, for sure.
  3:37pm YEAH BUDDY:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm Mike East:

I heard liquor store at the record fair. They rocked. When I went up to the dude and asked what the name of his band was, I thought he said "liquid store", thus tying everything back to the beginning of the playlist topic of misheard names. Liquor Store is a much better name, for the record.
Avatar 3:41pm fred:

@Mike East: Though a Liquid Liquid cover/tribute band called Liquor Liquor could be a promising concept, with Fool's Paradise crossover opportunities
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm DJ PB:

Thanks, everyone. A weekly slot is not in cards at the moment. I'm just far too busy to hold down a 3 hour show every week. But I do appreciate the sentiment!
  3:49pm frenchee:

lookit you, Pauly B, editing the curses! Finesse, my man.
Avatar 3:50pm Peteski:

always great
Avatar 3:50pm Mailman Tom:

Down and dirty rock 'n' roll, keep it comin'!

Avatar 3:52pm Chris M.:

they sent me to hell c.o.d.
Avatar 3:55pm hip:

@DJ PB. Shame, I'll keep today's selection at some safe place ;-)

We all know time's liquid gold and not chewing gum. My fav until now is Taxi Driver by Martin... but the whole lot is just AMAZING. Thanx again. WFMU should have at least a road name in every city of the World!

Enjoying from south of Spain - North of Africa.

Paul B. - liberated from the podcast quagmire and on the airwaves where he belongs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm Cubicle Carl:

Those "lost" Sandanista cuts are my favorites from the album. Another great was is "The Street Parade." Not sure if it made it to any greatest hits/compilations.
  4:09pm big adam:

i think i've liked every song i heard so far.
good stuff!!
Avatar 4:10pm On the Yazoo:

I had Sandanista on Cassette.. I never new what song was what... A long cassette
Avatar 4:10pm hip:

And Undertones could NEVER be missed in a list like this. Great! (I've recently checked their BBC documentary and... well... they're simply great)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm Cubicle Carl:

@On the Yazoo - Yes, I could just imagine. I got lost on the 3 LP set.
Avatar 4:21pm hip:

I don't like to suggest no song to djs. Even less after such a great list, but I was thinking of 20/20, as well as some others, that could perfectly fit here. Happy to hear it now. :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm pacific standard simon:

Old Soft Boys tunes always make me happy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm Cubicle Carl:

Suddenly I'm hungry...where are the prawns?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34pm Glenn L:

Piles!!! Big blast from the past! My day just took a detour down memory lane. Thanks Paul!
Avatar 4:38pm dk:

that alter boys song was fantastic.
Avatar 5:04pm dk:

pretty much an unbroken string of hits on the show so far, really. loving it.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:32pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

??...Oz Tropicalia: Aus Mutantes ??..
Avatar 5:33pm hip:

Ausmuteants remind me to Los Microwaves. Both will fill my Christmas dj set. Everybody to dance!
Avatar 5:33pm fred:

What? RIP Wild Flag? What happened? :-( indeed
Avatar 5:37pm fred:

I can deal with that, but I need to know what Carrie Brownstein will be doing next.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37pm G:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:38pm DJ PB:

Lots of Portlandia I expect, Fred. Mary's new band Ex Hex will have an album out next year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm Stevel:

Looking forward to more live White Mystery. See 'em if you get the chance!
Avatar 5:46pm fred:

Well, like many other people of my age -- of any gender -- I have a crush on Carrie Brownstein. Other old people might understand
Avatar 5:48pm fred:

Portlandia isn't music, that doesn't count
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm Cubicle Carl:

I had a crush on all three members of Sleater-Kinney at various points, and so did my girlfriend at the time. It was our last venture into fanboy/girl culture before we became adults.
