Martha:

Hi Richard - How are you?
  12:27am
P-90:

Good Morning, Martha. I hope you're feeling some of the good holiday Spirit, & none (or not much) of the bummer kind.
  12:28am
Rutherford:

That Saada Bonier track had a serious funk groove to it. It is kind of lodged in the back of my skull still, which is good.
  12:31am
Martha:

Yeah - they were/are ?Turkish? - and congrats to all either done taking/grading a test -

  12:33am
P-90:

Hmmm...Well we'e out here wishing you the best.
I have gotten the impression that perhaps more than a few of the air staff are not exactly McLovin' the Yuletide this year
  12:34am
JakeGould:

Merry Solstice!
  12:36am
r in va:

Hey Rutherford. You get a summer break?
  12:38am
blee:

That's right! It is Winter Solstice Eve tonight!
  12:39am
Martha:

Aw - it ain't so bad - anyway, better once it is closer - I mostly hate wrestling w/ the timing of the packages (as stupid as that may seem) - now it is time to eat cookies -
  12:39am
JakeGould:

Thank goodness! I am at that time of the year where seeing anything mildly sad becomes massively sad. Like missing the grill time at the deli!
  12:39am
Martha:

Also - lots of good subs over the holidays!
  12:40am
JakeGould:

Holiday Hoagies?
  12:45am
Martha:

Kinda...though they talk more. And play music. Sometimes.
  12:46am
JakeGould:

Oh, substitutes. I think in food.

Martha rocks.

I thought you meant sandwiches too, JakeGould was posting about the deli...

P-90 that is typical male: listening with our eyes, thinking with our penis and loving with our stomachs.

Hey Martha, just discovered that your show goes great with homemade pumpkin pie, fresh whipped heavy cream and rich coffee. Who would a' guessed it?
  1:27am
Martha:

Not me - but does sound tasty - I love pumpkin pie - should make it more than once every two years - thanks!
  1:29am
P-90:

What is it about these Fri night -- Sat morning comments boards that we always wind up talking about food?
Avatar 1:30am
pin-stripped bass:

That is my only real depression as I normally sit alone on Christmas is that I don't have pumpkin pie...not this year though!

*picking nose* Good morning maui. Good pumpkin pie is a lot like pumpkin soup that you can eat and drive at the same time.
  1:44am
Martha:

I always put a bunch more spices (type and quantity) into mine - though then again I get my recipe off the back of the can -
Avatar 1:46am

At least you don't take the easy way out Martha and buy the pie mix with the spices already mixed in. Good for you. I bet tell your're good in the kitchen ;)
  1:56am
Martha:

I do make my own crust regardless -
  2:06am
Martha:

And I didn't even know you could buy the whole thing pre-mixed! Another excuse!

Just read this in Boing: Science of the perfect chocolate-chip cookie
Not of fan of CC cookies but, damn, listen to this:
"...Barely crisp around the edges with a buttery, toffee-like crunch that transitions into a chewy, moist center that bends like caramel, rich with butter and big pockets of melted chocolate... with crackly, craggy tops and the complex aroma of butterscotch...that elusive perfect balance between sweet and salty"

I've always had luck w/ the back of the Tollhouse bag - though I use all butter for it - though they don't match up to the above, one thing I do know for sure -
