Bill Mac:

Hey Guys! Wouldn't you think that might be a bit redundant?
Avatar 3:15am
mauri:

fog in here, in january... many years to go. what wonders will I see?
Avatar 3:18am
Bill Mac:

Wonders? We had our 3rd snowstorm in as two weeks. Still feel like we're dodging bullets, haven't had a really bad one in a couple years (knock wood) Of course, took off work today cos of the weather, but made sure I got here!

Brian in UK:

Hello Bill, andy, mauri, welcome to 2014.
Awful weather and an Everly Brother down.
Avatar 3:21am
Andy in Berlin:

Yes, Wake Up Little Susie was the first 45 I ever had
Avatar 3:22am
Bill Mac:

Hey Brian, you've gotten passed all the water received over the last week?Did you make it to your sisters' house?
Avatar 3:22am

ohops. wasnt fog. its smoke from neighbors chimney...

Hey hey Looms! Good Saturday and 2014 to you all. Hope you weathered New Years in a festive fashion.... like me... in bed well before midnight.

Yes, got there, motorways were stop/start, you know the game.
It is pouring cats 'n dogs and I have to walk one now. Changing name to web-foot.

@ Bill - could you please stop kicking my ass around the kitchen? I'd really like to sit down to eat my breakfast.

@Andy - Use the anti dancing belt I sent you....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45am

Good morning Bill.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45am

Happy New....... Yeah!
Avatar 3:52am

The first thing I did on January 1st was to call the firefighters at 6:30AM. Those pyromaniac kids, you know...
  4:04am
Fran:

Good morning and a happy new calendar now being sold at 50% off one and all!
I hope you all got the box set you've been craving all year and it hasn't been blown or washed away in this horrible weather. I am annoying everyone with King Crimson's Road to Red box set - I now have a room to myself and no interruptions - sweet!!!! An anti dancing belt sounds good - can I get it to match my anti dancing shoes and hat?
Avatar 4:16am
Jay/London:

good morning Bill hope you are warm ... more rain wind and floods here in UK again ... well happy new dry year I hope
Avatar 4:16am
Bill Mac:

Hi Fran! I would assume the Road to Red box chronicles KC shows from the Red album era? Wait a minute I have a PC here.... I like the anti dancing ensemble - now if we could get a really depressed looking family to model them
Avatar 4:18am
Bill Mac:

Happy Dry Year Jay! Just cold, snowy and icy here at the moment - and cold... did I say it was cold here?
It's cold.... cold cold
  4:20am
Fran:

Oh yes Bill 21cds and various other things from that tour - not always the hi-est of fi but wonderful stuff! I can see the new promo campaign - 'forget Louis Vuitton - get yer anti dancin' feet on'......Don Draper need not worry for his job is safe.......
Avatar 4:24am
Looms:

Bill, I heard about the cold on the east coast on the french news and wondered if you would make it to the station. Thanks for being here, great show so far.
Avatar 4:25am
Bill Mac:

I love the excess of some of the box sets - my fave this year was the Nilson 15CD box. Stick with it though.
Avatar 4:26am
Bill Mac:

@Looms - I was only worried about the parking around here. Roads weren't too bad. It WAS pretty bad this morning though.
  4:31am
Fran:

Yes Nilsson was pretty special too! As he might sing 'I can't live if living is without box sets' - or so it increasingly seems!!
Avatar 4:31am
Jay/London:

oh just heard Phil Everly has died aged 74
Avatar 4:33am
Looms:

I got the Nilsson box set from my dad for Christmas :)
Avatar 4:34am
Bill Mac:

@Jay Ya see that! Brian said something cryptic when he got on this - went right over my head!
Avatar 4:34am
Bill Mac:

@Looms - NICE - for you Dad? Nidge nooge... he sez knowingly
Avatar 4:35am
Looms:

No, my 69 yo dad offered it to me.
  4:35am
Fran:

Papa Looms feeds his Christmas stockings well
Avatar 4:36am
Bill Mac:

@Fran - I might have to acquire that one but i dunno - there's something unhealthy about buying all of one artists work at once
Avatar 4:39am
Jay/London:

@ bill if you like the artist would think you would have most of there stuff already
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40am
Stanley:

Me likes the last track. Starred.
  4:40am
Fran:

'Tis the season to be unhealthy! Indulge!! On a slightly more cynical note - I've never yet seen an 'everything ever honest guv' box set that hasn't had more stuff mysteriously appearing from the vaults a bit later on. Indiana Jones and raiders of the allegedly lost master tapes springs to mind
Avatar 4:40am
Mike from MPLS:

Good morning all!
Avatar 4:44am
Bill Mac:

@Jay You are correct - I think I'd almost have to be sleeping with them though.
@Fran I used to try to collect all of XTCs stuff until I figgered out that ploy
@Stanley * em all!!
@Mike Mornin' to you Mike! Comin' or goin'?
Avatar 4:45am
Mike from MPLS:

comin...for now. End of a long night.

just looking at New York cam's brrrr keep your feet in the oven Bill
Avatar 4:58am

I guess this is the right moment for putting a request for Goin' Down by Nilsson (from Knnillssonn)
Avatar 4:58am
Bill Mac:

Try finding something in Minneapolis - like Mike said it's like 5-10 below zero. We're like a sauna here.
Avatar 4:58am
Jay/London:

love that love hurts song bill it just sends me
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59am
Stanley:

Nazareth!!! And if Brian is there - I saw them in Watford back in the day!
Avatar 4:59am
Bill Mac:

Which one Jay?
Avatar 5:00am
Looms:

I vote for Everly Brothers.
Avatar 5:01am
Looms:

Wow, thx! :)
Avatar 5:01am
Bill Mac:

@Stanley - that was kind of a cue for you....
Avatar 5:01am
Mike from MPLS:

Its manageable. You just tend to stay in one spot for longer.
Avatar 5:02am
Bill Mac:

I saw the Who cover Love Hurts, it made me revisit the Nazareth tune (which I knew) and check out the Everly tune. Both are great.
Avatar 5:02am
Mike from MPLS:

Is this from that box set? I thought it sounded excessive, but maybe I should take a look.
Avatar 5:03am
Looms:

Yes it is Mike.
Avatar 5:03am
Jay/London:

Everly Brothers by a whisker Bill
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:05am
Brian in UK:

Jesus Christ Junior, wet or what.

@Stanley was it Watford Town Hall. Saw Lindisfarne with Vinegar Joe there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:07am
Brian in UK:

Jim Capaldi of Traffic really murdered 'Love Hurts'. Should have got ten years.
Avatar 5:07am
Jay/London:

@ Brian Where are you today ... I am not going anywhere this weekend !!!! rain and wind for the last two weeks bill
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:09am

Jay, just got back from the muddy, muddy woods with a wet, wet dog. I am hungry, hungry, hungry.
Avatar 5:11am
Jay/London:

@ Brian I have a cat ... :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12am
Brian in UK:

Sandy Denny, nineteen (19) CDs previously unreleased. Why do you think they are unreleased? Where will it end. Recordings from inside the coffin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13am
Brian in UK:

Jay, do you have a cat slide like the fire stations 'cause you are up in the skies.
Avatar 5:14am
Jay/London:

@Brian I think it is all wrong with these box sets a lot of the recordings are sub standard
Avatar 5:15am
Jay/London:

@ Brian no she stays in well she is 17 now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15am
Brian in UK:

Anyone for The Flock of Seagulls retrospective?

Good age, Jay.
Avatar 5:16am
Mike from MPLS:

@Jay I agree...sometimes it seems like they're scrounging together any slop they can. A lot of fluff for a few gems.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17am
Brian in UK:

Bill, you might like to cast an ear over this.
www.bbc.co.uk...
Avatar 5:18am
Mike from MPLS:

I can't remember which, but I had a johnny cash box set that included a ton of misstarts. I hated it.
Avatar 5:19am
Bill Mac:

@Brian - Whaddaya suppose are on those Sandy Denny CDs... lotsa scratchin' methinks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20am
Stanley:

Nah Brian, Watford Football Club 1974. Elton John, Rod Stewart and Nazareth. Aged fifteen (they made me do it!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20am
Brian in UK:

I think Steinski's remix of Sandy farting in the bath was truly sumptuous.
Avatar 5:20am
Jay/London:

Don't think they can use bbc ipayer over there Brian
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:23am
Brian in UK:

Stanley, in Vinegar Joe playing pianner was Robert Palmer, he impressed greatly. Loved his early albums with Little Feat supporting. The first three tracks off 'Sneaking Sally through the Alley' run together so well.
Avatar 5:23am
Bill Mac:

@Brian I heard she was flat on those sessions
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24am
Brian in UK:

Blew out all the candles.
Avatar 5:31am
Mike from MPLS:

Thinking of hard rock, I had never heard of Yngwie Malmsteen (I think that's right) before last night. Hard for me to listen to 80's shredding and not laugh, but it was fun to listen to.
Avatar 5:34am
Bill Mac:

A friend of mine was born into 80 metal scene and loved Yngwie (Ing-vay?) Not my cup of tea, but I couldn't get past the hairdo at the time.
Avatar 5:34am
Jay/London:

this is cool gunter schickert
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:34am
Brian in UK:

These sounds are just right for todays wevver, Bill.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40am
Stanley:

New Year's Eve, doing my best to keep interested round the neighbours, I watched/listened to Jools Holland Hootenany show. The 'cream of contemporary music' live for ya on teevee. Whilst everyone, was singing along with the hits (except me) I was quietly thinking to myself thank God for WFMU.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42am
Brian in UK:

I'll have a side order of teardrops to sweeten my coffee.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45am
Brian in UK:

Stanley did the little fella play boogie woogie pianner. Tell me NO.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46am
Brian in UK:

People are still trying to be the first to find the new Beatles.
Avatar 5:46am
Bill Mac:

@Stanley You weren't even mouthing the words? What were they trying to make you sing?
Avatar 5:46am
Bill Mac:

Boogie Woogie Planner?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49am
Brian in UK:

Preparation is everything, Bill. Your radio show proves that!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52am
Stanley:

@Brian - oh yes, boogie woogie ahl naht long.
@Bill - Its when the fucking Proclaimers came on and we were forced to sing along to their atrocious hit song 'I'd walk five hundred miles' (pass me the sick bag, nurse).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54am
Stanley:

And there was this band of guys who each were sporting hipster beards. Its all too much for me nowadays.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55am
Brian in UK:

Shame they did not follow their own advice.

Top job, Bill. Best to everyone one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56am
Stanley:

Guys, Its been a pleasure. Here's to more of the same in the coming year.
Avatar 5:58am
