Christie was a US Attorney; in general, ALL US Attorneys tend to be political hacks looking for the next opportunity, in Congress/Governor/Attorney General/Federal appointee. Always a scummy touch to it.

Not to say Asst US Attorneys are all that bad--there are many more of them, and they often become judges and private attorneys of upstanding character.

We are a Society - the second you walk out your front door - before that in fact. If you take away all the Government Rules - what happens is only the people w/ Money & Power (& aren't they about the same?) get the Liberty to do whatever they want.

"Free trade" that's actually "free" wouldn't be so much of a problem, and would do some good as well. The problem with the 90s-present/NAFTA-after Free Trade Agreements is that they have arbitration panels called "Investor-State Dispute Settlements"--effectively it makes well-funded multinational corporations sovereign, and allows them to sue and get out of democratic laws. A lot of people don't know about this aspect of modern "free" trade:

n the 1992 Presidential Debates, the participants were William Jefferson Clinton, George Herbert Walker Bush, and H. Ross Perot, the third party (Reform) candidate.

This clip is memorable because Ross Perot used the phrase "giant sucking sound" when referring to the NAFTA deal, and many would argue that in 2010, he has been proven to be correct on this issue.
