Got an entire blue-note-vinyl collection from an unlucky guy who replaced everything with CDs years ago. She now "installed" that as part of her new extra living room.

@Cheif - I played some selections last week and will be featuring more next week. Today's jazz set is Blue Note-centric.

@Sem - Good morning! I am glad you can dig it.
@Hancho - Fear not! Opera has not and will not be played on this show.

Revolution Rabbit Nov63:
@DB: That was meant totally ironically - love Jazz - but I fear not, your Mix is good...
Guido (Cologne):
Thanks for compliments! I dig it!
I was more of a "German" stone mason.
Workin at romanesque churches ...
Guido (Cologne):
When in the mid-80ies even my beloved "inidie" music started to get on my nerves, I was getting deeply into: 60ies Garage and Jazz (Hard-Bop, Free, Fusion) and modernist Classical and DIY-Tape-Underground.
Escape of cul de sac.

Quark:
@Rev Rabbit I will admit Who's Tommy and Quadraphenia is most tolerable.
Guido (Cologne):

@Fred - I have found so much great music through FMU as a listener over the years! The freedom is amazing and my music library has grown exponentially since joining the crew here a couple years ago.

i luv u dav n bombay n yeou music so gud,,,<!!!!!!!!!!!
Dave Bombay:
Guido (Cologne):
I guess so.

polaris prize effect ? i guess the venue and fare were decided long before.
i'd suggest save 25e for another gig.
Guido (Cologne):
How wrong I was!
I better do not tell what I missed!
Dave Bombay:
@Fred - I do the same thing! I am very lucky to work with Brian Turner and I get to handle much of the new music that goes into rotation here. Because of that, much of it ends up on my computer. If I didnt have that going for me, my music library would be much much smaller.

What is "Old-School-Hip-Hop" nowadays?
In my memory "New School" startet with Whoodini, the Def-Jam Records' artists ...
OK, time passes ...
... it's not a static genre name (anymore)?
It used to be back in the 90ies, leastways as far as "European knowledge" is concerned.

I would say the original use of "old school" as far as hip-hop was to refer to groups who were around before Run-DMC dropped (Cold Crush, Treacherous 3, Funky 4+1, Furious 5, etc).

Guido (Cologne):
1. pre-Sugar-Hill / Enjoy Period
2. pre 808-Period
3. pre sampling piracy period
