Didn't have much time to plan today's show, due to The Golden Festival broadcast for TSP this past Saturday. (Hope some of you were able to stick with the show-- a better archive will be up soon.) Yesterday was spent catching up on rest and going to a Paul Motion guitar tribute last night.
	♥ 1:08pm Mike East: I'm getting my old Martin Dreadnought fixed up...gonna set me back quite a bit. May have to go on a payment plan.
	1:10pm glenn: anyway, l.d., it's much easier to convert a right hand acoustic. all you have to do is replace the nuts.

	1:15pm LovecraftDude888: Glenn...went through that option years ago...was told it was easier to just buy a LH guitar, then convert righty 12-string, it's too difficult or can be...due to tension on neck and other things. Better to just buy a LH!

	1:20pm LovecraftDude888: nah that's not happening...been a lefty guitarist since early 80s or whatever a total lefty....learned that way, etc. Only way I feel comfortable. The strength for strumming all left hand, and I have the dexterity for fretting and accuracy with right...I can barely play righty...maybe a bit of rhythm

	1:27pm glenn: i'll criticize clapton for the past forty years of crappy music he's made, but i'll never criticize his chops.
	1:28pm LovecraftDude888: oh yeah., I would imagine so. I'm totally comfy playing lefty so I stuck with that during lessons years ago for sure. These days at least, you can get LH guitars in diff. price ranges so that's not a problem...the only thing annoying with 12string is changing out the whole set o' strings sometimes! arghhh Only thing I don't miss about it.

	1:36pm LovecraftDude888: yeah usually gotta change out all of that...but I think most electrics it's easier sometimes than acoustics. depends. I wouldn't mess with it on a 12-string unless you have to.
	1:37pm kat330: Hello, Irene! Very late to the (new!) keyboard today, but have been listening since the get-go. Sooooo, nice, calming and healing sounds.
	1:40pm glenn: hmmmm. most bridge nuts on acoustic giuitars are perpendicular to the neck, although there are some that are oblique.
	1:42pm LovecraftDude888: I was told at Sam Ash in Queens a while ago that they can convert but usually an extra $150-200 depending on the guitar, and if it's convertible or not. I ended up just getting a Takamine 6 string ac elec. LH instead. I was like, I'll just get a 12 string again later.

(I have two 12-string with altered tuning/stringing.) .... alright not so many damaged leftie-guitars, still. Before spendin thousands on trademark factory guitars I'd consider consutance of gutar builder for a custom instrument.
	1:49pm LovecraftDude888: yeah i just might at that. I recall calling up Ovation about 3 yrs. ago, in CT, and they never called me back, just about ordering a stock Balladeer 12 LH out of factory. No shot. They weren't interested! ah well.
	1:52pm kat330: Fender did very right by me, and I was actually quite shocked they did. My 45-year-old Guild Mark II, with its lifetime warranty, finally had its bridge pop off. I contacted Guild's new owner -- Fender -- and emailed w/ a rep there. Turned out a guitar place across the river did the reattachment, and it was done all for free. Really nice.
	♥ 1:52pm Irene Trudel: @doca, I'm playing a bunch of those folks in this current set. the guitar players were Julian Lage, Gilad Hekselman, Nels Cline, Mary Halvorsen, Steve Cardenas, Vic Juris, Ben Monder, Brandon Ross, and Joel Harrison (who arranged the night). Lotta great moments.

	1:54pm LovecraftDude888: I notice you can even get a new cheap Fender Tele LH now for under $300 or less, which is great. A nice LH to beat the heck out of.

	1:55pm kat330: @L-dude: Nope not a penny, not even for the new strings. Considering it was actually a transfer of the warranty, it's nicely amazing.
	1:56pm glenn: i built linda manzer's studio. she had all kinds of whacky stuff under construction.
	1:57pm kat330: BWIM, a transfer to Guild's new owner not a transfer from another owner to me. It was mine from the start and traveled in moves all around the country with me.
	1:57pm LovecraftDude888: That's kool, at least Fender is sticking by Guild and all that. I love my Takamine cause it's got the ol' tuner built in etc. So keen!

	2:06pm kat330: My Epiphone came w/ a (not built in) tuner, but I never use it. As long as there are only 6 strings, it's no big deal.
	2:08pm LovecraftDude888: oh yeah, true. Well I can't do it by ear so use tuners a lot, esp. for alt. and down tuning...have some Korgs also around.
	2:08pm LovecraftDude888: actually the Fender Mustang amp i got has a tuner built in anyway!

	2:39pm kat330: Not a dulcimer. It's a 10-stringed Finnish harp (kantele). Once had a dulcimer that I made from a kit, but sold it in some dire straits situation decades ago.

HOoked up with various key folks in the field...S. T. Joshi being the key one. he went to Brown etc. I did some research at John Hay but never attended Brown.

(I have two 12-string with altered tuning/stringing.) .... alright not so many damaged leftie-guitars, still. Before spendin thousands on trademark factory guitars I'd consider consutance of gutar builder for a custom instrument.

	1:52pm kat330: Fender did very right by me, and I was actually quite shocked they did. My 45-year-old Guild Mark II, with its lifetime warranty, finally had its bridge pop off. I contacted Guild's new owner -- Fender -- and emailed w/ a rep there. Turned out a guitar place across the river did the reattachment, and it was done all for free. Really nice.
