	1:39pm Tony Coulter: I think the ultimate goal for MACs is to have a computer that's so slim and streamlined that it's just a piece of paper with the word "MAC" written on it.
	1:41pm Rich in Washington: the first ever blues thing I ever bought as a teenager was an Elmore James compilation. I think it was a put out by some cheapo company. When I listened to a superior reissue years later, it seems like the comp I originally had had some kind of flanging or delay to simulate stereo, or something. It sounds really weird compared to what I assume are more honest remasters.
	1:43pm Rich in Washington: I think you're onto something, Tony. I think Mac's plan is to just sell you a piece of paper that says New Mac on it and brainwashed people will believe it - shades of Ragle Gumm in Philip K. Dick's Time Out Of Joint.

	2:34pm Sam: I still prefer VHS to anything else. When you're too drunk to keep paying attention, just hit the power button. The next day the movie will pick up right where you stopped, without any searching around or navigating through menus!

	2:36pm Tony Coulter: @ Jeremy: Sort of. There is a store with a huge stock of 75 cent videos -- but they're used, not new. I found some great stuff at that NYC liquidators you speak of (including rare vinyl).
	2:36pm Rich in Washington: That's true, Sam! I still have a ton of VHS tapes - many of them things recorded in the 80s, relatively irreplaceable.

	2:45pm Tony Coulter: As I remember it, what kickstarted FMU's one-time mail-order catalog was the fact that that liquidators had boxes and boxes of mega-cheap Perrey & Kingsley CDs.

When I listened to a superior reissue years later, it seems like the comp I originally had had some kind of flanging or delay to simulate stereo, or something. It sounds really weird compared to what I assume are more honest remasters.
