Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:52am scuzfink1:

I have dear friends from Aruba who will find this a real hoot! Thanks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:52am Ken From Hyde Park:

Crud....I'm n a meeting room at work and can't listen. Time to patent a device that invisibly beams the sound into my auditory cortex. Maybe need to invent an auditory cortex before doing that, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53am Lizardner Dave:

This is from the album "Andy Breckman's Tropical Paradise".
Avatar 9:53am KP:

So in the 80s a friend and i drove up the driveway of the Bel Air and Hotel California came on radio. Of course it was on every moment of the day
Avatar 9:54am Joe McG:

@Lizardner: Ha ha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55am Guido (Cologne):

Now I remember that the new bed-music reminded me on a certain Sandy Nelson track ... (a non-typical Sandy Nelson) something that soaked into sub-consciousness over the decades ...

... and maybe another record by a French guy on 12-string ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56am scuzfink1:

I've always loved "Sugar Bum Bum", no matter the artist performing it.

Avatar 9:56am Joe McG:

@Guido: If you think of it, let me know!

Avatar 9:58am Marcel M:

Oh my god... New Jersey women... hahahahha
Avatar 9:59am cutting ties:

This is a great blues tune!
Avatar 9:59am KP:

Well to tell truth it was kind of stunning because it's the cover of the album and it's playing and you're there
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00am Greg from Bloomfield:

Preach it, Red.
Avatar 10:01am pc dat:

NOW we're talkin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02am Michele:

@Marcel - Just jealous for a split second!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02am scuzfink1:

This song should be the theme for my wife's favorite reality(?) show, "Mob Wives".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02am Guido (Cologne):

I think it is the first track on this album here:

Usually those European Liberty/Sunset-cheapos were re-packagings / compilations of earlier stuff.

.... maybe there is a connection ... sometimes it happens that recordings from the same sessions are used for varying artsts names.
  10:03am Will in Paris:

Hey, do you know Tinariwen? Touareg blues from the Mauritanian/ malien desert. The Touareg Alphabet dates back to the Phoenicians.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:03am Lewis:

pretty excellent John Lee Hooker
Avatar 10:04am Joe McG:

@Will: Yeah, great stuff!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:05am Guido (Cologne):

... up in Northern dancefloor heaven ...
  10:08am Scott W:

thank you Joe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09am scuzfink1:

I do like Joe Walsh, just the Eagles have always left me cold. I worked their show at Bethel Woods last summer and I surely can't fault their musicianship or professionalism, and they are really nice guys. I just find the whole to be far less than the sum of its parts. Maybe it's a left-coast thing with which I can't identify much. I do, however, sing along when it comes on the radio, so I might just fear it as an earworm.
Avatar 10:09am Joe McG:

@SW: It would've been amazing! ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09am DCE:

ok, you can touch me there

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12am Guido (Cologne):

Yey! The Waitresses!
Avatar 10:13am Joe McG:

@Will: That was Re Styles! I forget her real name.

If I need a mule skinned Dolly's my gal. Clean as a yodel.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:17am DCE:

yeah, I was just about ready to punch out for lunch and this damned mule shows up, needing to be skinned...
Avatar 11:19am Brian in UK:

For some reason this puts me in mind of Jenny Lewis without the verbal edge.
Avatar 11:20am pc dat:

Wait...are the Haden sisters really triplets? Crap, didn't realize that.
Avatar 11:21am Joe McG:

@pc: Petra, Tanya, and Rachel. What Q-Ts!
Avatar 11:21am pgw in mntclr:

@pc dat: haha, me neither. i just googled because i thought it was just a clever name
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:21am Mike Noble:

back to weather and super bowls... before this year there was a rule that stipulated the average weather for a host region could not go below 50 degrees F on the day of the super bowl.
Avatar 11:22am pc dat:

Yeah, I know about the whole dang fambly, just missed the fact that they're triplets.
Avatar 11:22am pc dat:

pgw: same here. Funny
Avatar 11:23am Brian in UK:

@dc pat who is the oldest is the most important. Minutes count for everything. Speaking as a dad of twins.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23am Mike Noble:

@DCE: the first super bowls were all split between california, florida and new orleans (superdome)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am Mike Noble:

if you're thinking about cold football championships, you're thinking about pre-super bowls, like the last eagles championship: 7-0 in the snow at franklin field at upenn.
Avatar 11:24am slater:

the Silver Fox
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am Mike Noble:

or you're thinking about the ice bowl, which was the NFC championship, at a time when the AFL was still laughable and the super bowl was a joke.
Avatar 11:25am pc dat:

@Brian: that's what I hear.

Oh man, football players! Soccer is played no matter what is going on. My son practices outside in the snow in 15 degree whether.
Avatar 11:25am pgw in mntclr:

honestly, i didn't know there was a third sister until she married Jack Black, aka Charlie Haden's son-in-law
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:26am DCE:

@ Mike Noble, so they changed the rule, I guess...well, maybe someday Cleveland will actually see a Super Bowl if not participate in it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:26am Mike Noble:

correction, my eagles reference was to their first championship, not their last. my belove iggles have never won a super bowl.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:26am Parq:

This is a brilliant set, Joe. Funny, I still remember when a majority of FMU listeners turned up their noses at country.
Avatar 11:26am KP:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27am Mike Noble:

@DCE - I don't know if they changed the rule or just waived it for this one time. Apparently they got to thinking about this more than a decade ago as a way to help NYC come back from 9/11.
Avatar 11:28am Joe McG:

Thanks, Parq! Hard to imagine!
Avatar 11:28am KP:

Buck! My fav by him is Who's Gonna Mow Your Grass.
Avatar 11:29am Sem Chumbo:

Well, I'll be a buckaroo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29am DCE:

@ Mike Noble, haha, yeah, that seems about right...ineffectual politics even in the world of sports, taking 13 years to help NYC get back on its feet...
Avatar 11:29am KP:

FMU did great job with George Jones' exit.
Avatar 11:30am Brian in UK:

Avatar 11:34am Joe McG:

Hey, Charlie!
  11:37am karmalade mitty:

got me.. doing that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38am Parq:

KP, agree completely. By then, George Jones was such a part of what FMU is about that I regarded his death as an occasion uniquely suited to FMU treatment.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38am Mike Noble:

@DCE- forgot to say, cleveland is also unlikely because your stadium is considered too old at this point. build a new one and you stand a better chance at getting the super bowl.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41am Lizardner Dave:

I don't know that the "50 degree rule" ever officially existed and if it did it wasn't lifted for NYC, Indianapolis hosted the game two years ago. Nobody crapped themselves about possible snow then because Indianapolis has a domed stadium.
Avatar 11:42am KP:

I was in Nashville when He Stopped Loving Her was breaking. It was unbelievable.
Avatar 11:43am bibi:

yeah, way through, thx !
Avatar 11:43am Joe McG:

@bibi: My favorite "new" album!
Avatar 11:44am KP:

The 50-degree rule was real and was waived as was the no-swamps-for-setting rule.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44am Carmichael:

Brian, do you actually have twins?? So do I. We may be related.
Avatar 11:45am KP:

Joe how is Jersey City doing as the official hosts of the Super Bowl?
Avatar 11:45am bibi:

doesnt seem to be a touring band...
Avatar 11:46am Brian in UK:

This part of the UK (Westonzoyland) has taken a terrible beating from the rain. The flood waters have not subsided over a month later.
Avatar 11:46am Joe McG:

@KP: You can listen to 7 Second Delay from last night for an up-close view of the NFL in Jersey City!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47am Mike Noble:

temperature rule would obviously only apply to outdoor stadiums.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47am fleep:

@Carmichael Are you getting any of the rain? We may even get some down here.
  11:47am karmalade mitty:

why can't they play in snow? too soft this modern crop of players!
Avatar 11:48am Brian in UK:

@Carmichael. Are you more handsome than others give you credit for. Gracious, charming and is it a pleasure to be your in company.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48am Mike Noble:

it's generally colder than 50 at night in new orleans in february, but they have the super bowl like every 3rd year.
  11:48am karmalade mitty:

get the orange ball out
Avatar 11:49am Brian in UK:

Twin grills for the record.
Avatar 11:49am bibi:

talking about delay, i think the 'natural reverb' world record has been beaten in some crazy fuel storage, somewhere in scotland. something like 3 full mins !
Avatar 11:50am KP:

sorry i didnt make it over there for that
Avatar 11:51am bibi:

i ll look for a video/audio take of it.
Avatar 11:51am northguineahills:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53am Guido (Cologne):

Bob Seger instead of Pete Seger.
Good idea! ;-)
Avatar 11:54am pc dat:

@karmalade mitty: exactly, too soft. Don't tell me throwball players are tougher than soccer players.
Avatar 11:54am earrie:

The 3hrs whipped by too quickly. Until then.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am Carmichael:

@fleep: Yes, it rained last evening and is due to continue today. Good luck with your arid climate.
Avatar 11:55am Brian in UK:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57am Carmichael:

Yep Brian, I had to whack off Spencer's testes as a requirement to get him out of doggie prison.
Avatar 11:57am Joe McG:

  12:01pm Santos L Halper:

Hi Joe! Thanks for playing my band No Other. We're from Philly (but I am a DJ on WPRB, which is in New Jersey).
