Jay, sounds like progress.
  3:29am
P-90:

@Bill: that was "haha" for "...thighs"
Yeah, Nawlins is mostly lowlands, beneath sea level, like the Netherlands. The sad story apparently that the big oil companies sucked a lot of oil out of there and parts of the state sank even lower; and the towns, cities, the people, the economy of that state, saw very very little of the $ from all that oil...

@Brian: february doesn't look good. Big damages in Brittany too: since december, we've had the same coastal erosion than in the last 30 years.
  3:39am
P-90:

I was down there for the last Mardi Gras before Katrina. I got to "see the Zulu King," just like the song says, still have some coins he tossed me. The "friends of friends"' house were I stayed was badly flooded a year later. I haven't been back either
Avatar 3:43am
Jay/London:

are you planing to play brother JT this morning Bill ?
  3:44am
P-90:

@Brian and Looms: I'm very sorry to see this. These are global warming effects, unfortunately. Don't let anyone tell you their not. Defensive measures are possible, they've done an incredible job in the Netherlands for centuries, but the will has to be there at the government level, there's the rub
  3:46am
P-90:

@Looms: that coastal erosion is especially worrying because it can't be repaired like other kinds of damage, it's forever
Avatar 3:48am
Looms:

@P-90: this is officially the result of global warming here.
