Balm for the soul. Good morning, Jeffrey and hello, RevRab and P-90. Just sunrise here, and can see the sun for a change.
  6:59am
Irene:

That last piece by Nesta? Nice to watch the sunrise by.
Avatar 7:20am
Chris from DC:

Great set. Lots I need to hear more of.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46am
Sem Chumbo:

Pretty much riveted to this chair through-out the show, Jeffrey. Would never have known much of this music existed without this show. Many thanks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46am
Mike East:

good morning and happy Saturday, all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:58am
Sem Chumbo:

Rennet is derived from the lining of a ruminant stomach, used in coagulating proteins in cheese-making. Interesting album title.
Avatar 7:59am
glenn:

rennet is a coagulant found in the stomachs of various animals, pigs etc.
Avatar 7:59am
glenn:

oh. sem beat me to it
Avatar 8:03am
glenn:

well, he was awake earlier so that makes sense.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:05am
Sem Chumbo:

@glenn: I have not been watching, so what are Canada's chances tomorrow?
Avatar 8:08am
glenn:

sweden's pretty good, but if carey price stands on his head again, and crosby and toews have a good game, it's as good as wheat in the bin, to quote damon runyon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15am
Mike East:

I'm starring the crap out of this set
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15am
Sem Chumbo:

Now I have a saying to perplex the locals. Never mind citing Mr. Runyon. Thanks for that and the betting line.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18am
Mike East:

note to self: take some time to strum an acoustic guitar today
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:27am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Hi folks ! Been listening in the tub where I been soaking my fool sickly head; anybody know which was the track way back - fella picking high up a nylon-string singing about wind & memory ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:31am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...okay - so now you're going to tell - if I don't eat animals but still eat cheese - it involves an animal's stomach anyhow - ??...
  8:31am
Stuart rose:

Sem, I've got to second your comments about Jeffrey's show being a balm to the show, and how he rivets you with all his unusual and beautiful music.
Avatar 8:32am
glenn:

yep. welcome to reality.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:35am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...& then someone told me some Beers use some fish component in processing - & Beer is basically Bread w/ Hops - so wtf - ??...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:37am
Mike East:

i vote for continuing to consume beer and cheese
Avatar 8:38am
glenn:

there are four ingredients in beer: water, yeast, hops and malt. anything else is unnecessary.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:39am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- well - not all beers do it - & not all of the ones who do use it everywhere (they tell me our Guinness here is made in Canada? - I dunno)
...Does all cheese use renet - ??
- Xactly glenn !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:41am
Mike East:

most do....its what has the enzymes that turn milk to cheese
Avatar 8:43am
glenn:

mmmm. i don't think guinness is brewed under license, but i'm not 100% sure. this is far better stout anyway. mcauslan.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:44am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Okay - Googled my question & there are lists of Vegan Cheese & such; the stomach lining of a slaughtered calf - huh...
  8:44am
Stuart rose:

Rev, I'm pretty sure kosher cheese does not contain rennet- but it's absence definitely affects the taste.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46am
Sem Chumbo:

In answer to a query about Kosher cheese method:"If the source of rennet is a kosher species of animal, ritually slaughtered under rabbinical supervision, it may be used to turn milk into cheese. For rather involved halachic reasons, there is no problem of meat and milk mixing in such usage. Likewise, if rennet is extracted, as it occasionally is, from vegetable sources, there is no question as to the kashrus of the cheese when it is produced under rabbinical supervision."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:47am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Looks good glenn - my problem w/ beer that tastes @ all like coffee is - for me the whole point of a pint is likely an antidote to over-caffeination in the werkday
- oh yes - in Kosher Meat & Dairy contact is a big no-no - right ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:47am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- cheers Sem.
  8:49am
b k:

is any of this kosher on a Saturday morning?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50am
Sem Chumbo:

@b.k.: Oy! Very funny.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50am
Mike East:

yeah, it blew my mind when a jewish friend told me they never had a cheeseburger growing up.
  8:51am
Stuart rose:

Well, there is a Sabbath like piece to the music Jeffrey plays.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:52am
Sem Chumbo:

@Stuart rose: might I even say ruminative?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:52am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...a black ⚡abbath ballad maybe - ?...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:53am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...cud you just had to Sem...
  8:55am
Stuart rose:

Rev and Sem, nice and droll.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56am
Sem Chumbo:

RevRab: nothing gets past you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Droll is probably lurking - Nice got scared off a long time ago...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57am
