Also, I finally signed up for Twitter not long ago, after putting it off so long. And Therese, if I may be honest: You were literally *the* first person I started following. =)
  12:33am Steve-O:

At first I thought it said Gilded Sphincters...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45am pacific standard simon:

This was always an "after midnight" tune on KSAN circa 1971.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46am Matt from Springfield:

Gild the Lily, then Gild the Sphincter!
  12:46am JakeGould:

So was the goal met? Or is WFMU hilariously the other 99%?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46am pacific standard simon:

Gild Lily's WHAAAT?!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52am pacific standard simon:

Your thong is over what?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53am mariano:

Hey Simon or anyone: seen the movie on Netflix called Stony Island, from the 70s, about an aspiring funk band in Chicago, basically all real musicians in the starring roles? There was a fellow named Ronnie Baron in it, from New Orleans, real good Dr John type voice, in fact he and John were collaborators in the early days.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54am pacific standard simon:

I know nothing.
  12:55am Steve-O:

@Simon: I know nussink! xD (Sorry, couldn't resist the Hogan's Heroes reference)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55am Matt from Springfield:

And you're a top notch DJ, Therese. =)
  1:01am P--90:

And Thank You Therese and the air staff for getting the job done while keeping the station fun to listen to
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02am mariano:

@Simon: yeah, knew he'd passed away a while back. Some great music in that movie.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05am pacific standard simon:

Says the Dr. John the Night Tripper character was based on a character named "Reverend Ether" that Barron used to do. Interesting to learn.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11am pacific standard simon:

Gotta crash, work tomorrow. See ya, kids! Give up ya money to FMU for Lent.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12am Ken From Hyde Park:

Sleepy pies and beddy-byes for me. Catch ya later. Thanks for the fun.

Avatar 1:27am Danne D:

Therese - I realize it's sort of a quirk of the schedule but you are just the perfect show to have resume the regular schedule :) Just like Rix was in days past :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27am Therese:

Duane! You KILLED it tonight, my friend!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28am mariano:

@Duane: yep, you killed it tonight
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33am Kat in Chicago:

Another marathon in the books. Congratulations to all. Therese, I have not caught your show in a Very Long Time but I need to correct that. Duane - what those last 2 said.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33am Matt from Springfield:

Hey Danne :)
And hey Duane! :) Good performance as always! Courvoisier in your cup again? :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34am Matt from Springfield:

@Danne: And yes, I love easing back into the regular schedule with Therese, just like easing back into the weekdays!
Avatar 1:37am Whooda:

Hey Therese just had to chime in to say how much I appreciate the shower of music emerging from the marathon. My first marathon experience leaves me with even greater respect for the deep well of talent, personality, dedication and authenticity that is FMU in a world which makes FMU look sane by comparison.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38am Therese:

You are all top notch. And I am bordering on delirious right now.
Avatar 1:39am BadGuyZero:

You are one of THEE BEST, Therese!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44am Matt from Springfield:

Your first Marathon? Congrats, Whooda! I'm sure you've realized that the WFMU Marathon is the ONLY fundraising drive that actually gets people EXCITED! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46am Kat in Chicago:

I listen to shows during the Marathon that I otherwise neglect because the interaction between the cohosts is so entertaining.

Matt it is amazing what a difference this marathon is to every other broadcaster does. There is no comparison. I'm a tightwad but was proud to pledge with generosity towards something really, truely special.
Avatar 1:48am Droll:

The WFMU 'thon is the only radio "Destination Vacation Volunteer Experience". I've done it, I believe BGZ has served his station in the phone room, many listeners have...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00am Matt from Springfield:

Eastern Daylight Time, now! :)
Avatar 2:00am Whooda:

@Droll I would have considered helping next year but after seeing the talent and great souls at the station, I don't think I would could ever feel adequate.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01am Matt from Springfield:

You said it Kat! And you said it, Whooda!
Avatar 2:01am Peteski:

no talking
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02am Matt from Springfield:

That's nice of you Droll! BGZ has stopped by to volunteer, it seems whenever he's in the area, Marathon or not!
Avatar 2:02am BadGuyZero:

Droll is correct. This was the second year I've flown up from Dallas to help out during the marathon. It's a wonderful experience. You get to meet some wonderful people and see how the magic is made. The food that people bring in is exceptional* as well.

The marathon isn't the only time they need volunteers to help out around the station. All the shirts, CDs and other goodies we'll be receiving as a token of appreciation for our financial support take time to package and mail out. My first visit to the WFMU building was for that very purpose. If you're ever in the area and are interested in volunteering get in touch with Scott Williams. He'll let you know if the station needs some help.

*Hats off to whomever brought the chocolate ginger snaps yesterday.
Avatar 2:03am Droll:

Whooda, Answering phones requires no skills... besides penmanship, which is why I was not invited back. But most people do fine. It was fun even after I got yelled at for illegible cards for the umpteenth time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05am Tome:

<< picks thing up then puts then down ...
Avatar 2:05am Droll:

Did I mention free admission to H&M?! I got hit in the face with a bag of M&M's thrown by Irwin who was channeling Amanda. One of the most intense concerts I ever saw.
Avatar 2:10am Duane:

Thank you Therese:)
And thank YOU to all of y'all who keep this thing going. and MATT F SPRING: That was a double shot of Handy Rye smuggled in by the GF! Thanx so much for the positives..Little Willie John didn't turn over in the grave, but maybe he guffawed incredulously..HAHA
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12am Matt from Springfield:

Thanks Duane! (I loves the rye whiskey myself! :)

@Droll: Wow! You were a victim/witness to a legendary Irwin H&M performance! And Ira Kaplan and X.Ray Burns doing their parts!
Avatar 2:14am Droll:

Wow, I never realized Love Hangover had two completely different drum parts panned hard L/R.
  2:14am KP:

Did we go to the same church, Therese? We had to listen to and do interpretations of that Cat Stevens song in religion class.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48am Matt from Springfield:

And then the emergency sirens came racing by baby Todd Barry...
Avatar 2:48am BadGuyZero:

Baby Todd Barry had a CD called "Street Sounds of New York for Babies."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48am Matt from Springfield:

Hey Bob! That was a children's church song first, that was where Mr. Stevens Islam first heard it.

I am so dumb. I just realized that I could actually be listening to Therese and Amedeo via the airwaves instead of via the interwebs. I'm a creature of habit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:01am Matt from Springfield:

amEdeo's scared of "jump things"? That's why he scares by doing that, he himself is afraid of jumping out!
Avatar 3:02am BadGuyZero:

I hope there's a "yezright" button in either Therese's or amEdeo's button sets.
