	♥ 3:51am Brian in UK: In the Sixties the R 'n B bands all became 'hippie' bands. Same with glam just following the trend trying to make a buck.
	3:52am P-90: maybe the key is to view Glam as a period that many bands of several "categories" passed through, rather than as a category unto itself...
	3:53am Emile: Don't forget the 'skiffle' bands, which I think we just didn't have in the States, who morphed into the Who, the Beatles, Stones, etc....

	4:03am P-90: is Kiss a glam band? they came out of that scene. Yes, gabriel was Glam in the beginning, but was Genesis a Glam band? T.Rex was a Glam band if anyone was, but do we remember Marc Bolan or Bowie for that matter as "Glam" artists? p.s., I started writing this before Bill came on mic and mentioned Kiss
	4:05am Emile: Exactly, Bill. Most of these labels were media-influenced, and music lovers didn't really have anything to say about it...
	4:05am Andy in Berlin: I never got Kiss even then. And a few years ago I was doing research for a movie and I bought a bootleg Kiss concert video on Ebay and the actual concert was like a Mad Magazine parody of a Kiss concert.
	4:08am P-90: Like Bill just said, at some particular point in time many aspiring acts were Glam in some aspect of their musical ( or more often visual) style, but most were not "Glam bands". Like I said before, it should be seen as a "period" rather than a "category".

	4:18am Whooda: Short of an official description, I always took "Glam" to mean homosexual / bi-sexual in the makeup and costume trademark. For me, beginning with David Bowie.
	4:29am Whooda: Watching old western on tv right now and realize that Native Americans were Glam before Glam was cool. Face paint and feathers galore.

	4:54am P-90: OK that sounds like what we call "corned beef". It's hard to find the "real deal" here too

	5:04am Whooda: @Brian, Yes exactly, corned beef is soaked in brine for extended time then cooked with bakery spices plus bay and mustard: cinnamon, brown sugar, ginger, clove and allspice.
	5:04am Whooda: 1972 our junior high school English teacher and the gay librarian took several weeks from our English study time and we studied Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars. The librarian was sacked for that and the teacher was disiplined harshly. Bowie not particularly appreciated in rural Oklahoma in 1972.

	5:12am Bill Mac: @Whooda - Yeah that might've been considered pushing it back then. I had a music appreciation class in 73 and we used to listen to national lampoon. whoever could keep a straight face at the jokes was given an 'A' for the days' work.

	5:31am Bill Mac: We've had quite a few McCartney reissues float thru here this past year... and it doesn't surprise me that Wings were together longer than the Beatles. Seems par for the course when you get down to it.

	4:05am Andy in Berlin: I never got Kiss even then. And a few years ago I was doing research for a movie and I bought a bootleg Kiss concert video on Ebay and the actual concert was like a Mad Magazine parody of a Kiss concert.
	4:08am P-90: Like Bill just said, at some particular point in time many aspiring acts were Glam in some aspect of their musical ( or more often visual) style, but most were not "Glam bands". Like I said before, it should be seen as a "period" rather than a "category".

	5:04am Whooda: @Brian, Yes exactly, corned beef is soaked in brine for extended time then cooked with bakery spices plus bay and mustard: cinnamon, brown sugar, ginger, clove and allspice.
	5:04am Whooda: 1972 our junior high school English teacher and the gay librarian took several weeks from our English study time and we studied Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars. The librarian was sacked for that and the teacher was disiplined harshly. Bowie not particularly appreciated in rural Oklahoma in 1972.
