Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:39pm
Gary:

Everyone should WATCH Awaara, is my spiel for the eve. It's a great, great, great movie.
  7:39pm
doca:

You should extend the limit of the songs little by little. Today, 10 minutes; next week, 20, and so on, until you play one of those 5 hour Indian ragas
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40pm
Gary:

Jesse played a half hour raaga one night that completely blew me away. Turned out he knew the guy who recorded it (on I think guitar)
  7:41pm
doca:

Oh cool, Bryce used to play a lot of 40-min or 1-hour ragas on his show too

It's alarming how much you can cram into one 10-minute Bollywood song

You are lucky you CAN'T see me, Gary. Gross & sweaty after working all day to clean out a dead man's office - he was a tenured professor AND worked for the state dept AND was a hoarder. And a squaredancer. I have miles and miles to go.

Plus was woken up by tornado warning @ 5 am, and then again at 5:20 when my next door neighbor called to invite me over to her basement (I don't have a basement, just a nasty cave cricket-filled crawl space) .I demurred, but no more sleep for me. But also no tornado, thank goodness :-)

  8:21pm
doca:

Guys, could you tell me what a hoarder is?
  8:21pm
listener james from westwood:

I had a trainee who, after 18 months of failing to launch, my boss finally consented to fire. The trainee was a bad hoarder. She had to make 5 trips down to her similarly crap-clotted car w her personal effects. I spent another 3 days organizing the unfiled and disorganized work papers she left behind, followed by another day of disinfecting her now empty workspace. Horrifying.
Avatar 8:22pm
Kevlicki:

THey've also closed that location for renovations. Which I hope will reopen and not slowly die like so many other NY owned institutions
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22pm
Gary:

Yes, Kevlicki, that's right -- everywhere! And I think St. Marks Books is dying
  8:23pm
listener james from westwood:

Holly, very glad you had no twister. It's sounded horrific thru certain areas.
  8:23pm
Jill B.:

Doca, it is someone who accumulates and accumulates and accumulates stuff, stuff and more stuff, until there is not more room to move!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:23pm
Gary:

Doca, a hoarder is someone who keeps like EVERY copy of the newspaper, forever. And just stores it. They hoard things. What my mom said ^
  8:24pm
doca:

And you're always talking about food, so I need to say I made a big bowl of guacamole to watch tonight's game (I'm very happy with it eheh)

Avatar 8:26pm

@doca - & then some more stuff - and throwing *anything* out is incredibly painful. Really painful. That's why my skill in organizing other people's lives is so mind-boggly bizarre.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:26pm
Gary:

Yes, I remember that, Kevlicki. They're struggling again and I think have started one of those Kickstarter things. Not a good sign.
Avatar 8:27pm
Kevlicki:

Has anyone heard any rumors about the Strand?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:28pm
Gary:

It's funny that the two main convo streams going on here involve people accumulating too much stuff and the death of the places where we in the drummer circle get some of our stuff that we like to accumulate
  8:28pm
doca:

@Holly: and you really work doing this? I mean, you should have a really terminal hoarding condition to have to call another person to sort out your stuff.
