Thanks for the traumatic show last week!

Hello DJ Mac The unique audio quality of these recording makes me wonder if past generations perceived the world in some way different from us who have known only high fidelity recordings.
Avatar 8:05pm Jeff:

Attention, APMP lovers: sometime during this hour we expect to take the wfmu.org servers down for awhile some essential software updates.

Pray do not be alarmed.
Avatar 8:37pm Jeff:

...and we're back up (even though you may not see us yet)
Avatar 8:47pm Whooda:

@Jeff Something to do with Heartbleed?
Avatar 8:52pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Or was it all about Windows XP end of support?
Avatar 8:53pm Jeff:

@Whooda: on the nose.

OpenSSL is patched now.
Avatar 8:55pm Whooda:

Our poor old friend Windows XP gets thrown under the bus. I have a backup notebook running XP.
  8:56pm JakeGould:

Happy OpenSSL is patched. But this is reminding me too much of my day job.
Avatar 8:57pm Whooda:

@Jeff Thanks, I feel special now. Thanks for jumping on top of that so quickly! KUDOS!

Thanks DJ Mac really enjoyed the circle around the phonograph tonight.
Avatar 8:57pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Despite common PR, Microsoft will be creating security patches for XP until at least July 2015, and probably until 2019.
Avatar 8:58pm Jeff:

Kenzo is right as always. This was really all about Windows XP.

Sorry, @JakeGould. I will now cease to speak of computery things on the playlist for mechanical music-reproduction engine enthusiasts.
Avatar 8:58pm Whooda:

@Kenzo, I read that it will cost big bucks for XP support. Not a surprise. I'll just let the old notebook out to pasture I guess.
Avatar 8:59pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

@Whooda: There are channels online that will be leaking out XP patches, which will be created because there are (a) corporate customers who were promised support, and (b) some XP-like OS's they will support until 2019.
  9:00pm JakeGould:

Analog! Analog!
Avatar 9:00pm Whooda:

:)
Avatar 9:01pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
