Methinks thou spoke of GOATS upon the battlements!

Sure, Nate, 's'all good.
Avatar 12:26am
Holly in NC:

@pss - I am everywhere!
@Droll, I think I can still outsmart hall monitors ;-)

@pss - You would kill for my lunch today. I am dog sitting for neighbors with a great garden & chickens, and so:
2 basted eggs right from the hens' nether regions, still warm,
5 freshly dug asparagus spears, gently heated, and also
slightly dressed dandelion greens w. parm
sauteed sherried cremini mushrooms
- eggs & asparagus drizzled with truffle butter purchased on monster sale last year, portioned, frozen, and saved for special occasions - today was 1st special occasion!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27am
pacific standard simon:

OK, Mott, that's good segue.
Avatar 12:29am
Holly in NC:

That was a good segue.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31am
pacific standard simon:

@Holly - Yuppers, I would. But this is how I described my supper tonight on Dave Mandl's show: "Roast pork with lemon glaze, steamed broccoli with garlic sauce, and apple sauce from our own apple tree (frozen last summer)." So there.
  12:33am
P-90:

Yes, indeed a good segue.
@ Holly: there is NOTHING like that still-warm, freshly-laid egg, from a backyard coop, not an egg factory
Avatar 12:41am

. o O ( Mmmmmmm.... 'sparagus.... ) I don't think I've ever had a fresh egg.
pss, The sliced pig wiggler looks great!

What is it about late night DJs, they don't want to come on mic as often as daytime DJs? I mean, maybe I would be the same way... but what does it mean?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45am
pacific standard simon:

"I Was A Punk Before You Were A Punk" by The Tubes -- that would work here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46am
pacific standard simon:

Too late.
Avatar 12:49am
Droll:

pss, They can lose their broadcaster's license if they come on mic in the first 20 minutes during safe-harbor hours. It gets complicated, but it's easier just to do long sets.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:49am
pacific standard simon:

BAH
Avatar 12:51am
Holly in NC:

@p-90 - Yes. True. I wish I could afford to house my own hens.

@pss - Well, if you're going there, dinner here =
leftover pulled smoked pork reheated in bacon fat, finished w. vinegar sauce. Avocado, salsa, spiced yogurt on side.
But that was small amounts, & hours ago! So late night snack =
homemade chicken liver mousse + pistachios
generic Trader Joe's raw milk blue cheese (it's good!) + walnuts
isle of mull cheddar, extra aged
1 brazil nut
(in process)

CONGRATS Nate the K !

I was off debating in the bedroom about the 2016 election...
Avatar 1:36am
Droll:

pss, You do know that's not until 2016, right?
Avatar 1:36am
Holly in NC:

@Droll - no one spends enough time time thinking about rumaki! Time for reappraisal. Sub jicama or sunchokes for water chestnuts, coconut aminos for the soy sauce, keep ginger but omit sugar, and, well, bacon is bacon but maybe not hickory smoked.

@pss - My chicken liver mousse is a long-running work in progress, there are still 2 versions (that I know of!) better than mine, damnit. I will never give up, and I will let you know when I'm closer to perfection.
Avatar 1:39am
Holly in NC:

@Droll - he was in the BEDROOM. "2016 election" is code ;-)

That said, Warren, Green Party, emigration, asylum = my choices, in some order
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41am

Right on, Holly -- I was jumping on the Warren bandwagon. Kill the student loan interest rate.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44am

pss, You're in Seattle now, no need to settle for window dressing: it's okay to call out for Scandinavian-style free college tuition. $15/hr minimum wage, legal weed, etc. You're in Seattle now.

I'm making less than $15 an hour now as a skilled employee -- I tend to view with suspicion anyone who asks for that as a MINIMUM wage in my neighborhood.

So many songs about Laurel Canyon in the late '60s... worth a whole set of music.
Avatar 1:56am

@Nate - Great show. Can we ever hope for non fill-in status?

That laurel Canyon sounded kind of hokey, but they made it work. strange Ways of Nate k.

@Droll - My in-laws have a couple of streets on the island named after them, including the one I live on. The house I live in has been in the family since it was built, over 100 years ago. Nevertheless, despite taxes and constant repairs and medical bills, we get by on our various old folks' hourly wages. Can't speak up for anybody else.
