Oh my! This must be that "Rock 'N Roll" I've heard so much about.

"act as if you give a shit about Sun Ra" is what that article should be called.

new schedule!
Avatar 12:16pm Cheri Pi:

Killing it!
  12:16pm Dean:

It is just a tad condescending, isn't it? Sun Ra wrote "tunes"? So did Beethoven, I suppose.
Avatar 12:16pm V Priceless:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm Stevel:

Also recognizing that you're killing it!

Oh my...

i thought i knew this song ... of course i know ...
  12:20pm Andy Plants:

Whoa never heard this cover
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm Guido from Cologne:

... better that the original?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm chris:

Nice cover! Always dug this tune.

hi Diane hi Kiddles .. !

Diane, your taste is impeccable. Rock on.
  12:33pm Andy Plants:

I second r i s k y's comment
  12:33pm r i s k y:

Yeah, lady Die plays what/how she sees fit.
  12:34pm GG Allin Thicke:

Alice Cooper, MASH (TV show), and I love Lucy are the three things that drive me the most insane.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm coe:

Keep going back and forth on if I should go to the Alice show and leave before Motley Crue
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm coe:

I personally dug the Making Plans for Nigel cover.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm Stevel:

Saw Alice last summer. It was nearly a perfect show.
Avatar 12:36pm Diane Kamikaze:

I got a ticket for that show on Groupon, Coe. I will be leaving early in the Crue set unless they play Live Wire and Looks That Kill right away
  12:36pm GG Allin Thicke:

Avatar 12:37pm Cheri Pi:

Yes Coe, go but leave early. I think MC've been playing the same set for the last 17 years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm coe:

I'm pretty ignorant to CT's stuff outside of just general band knowledge. I had thought they were more of straight up HxCx band I'm a bit surprised.
  12:38pm ScottC:

I thought the whole reason to listen to WFMU was to escape that "Cooler Than Thou" BS - I never paid much attention to Dio ( except when I used to print his t-shirts ) but the AC cover was interesting to hear and if it bugged me I would just Turn It Off-
Avatar 12:39pm V Priceless:

can't go wrong with AC in any way, shape or form Coe - plus his band is kickin', and they always manage to pull out a deep cut here and there!
  12:39pm GG Allin Thicke:

Is Mick Mars still playing with them or is his health preventing it?
Avatar 12:40pm Cheri Pi:

FISTER! -nicest guys in the world.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm common:

are fister really nice, cheri?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42pm coe:

I did see him on a couple of his last few tours. Was actually lucky enough to be right at stage for he Rob Zombie tour. I'm was also kind of interested to see Orianthi play. More so a venue snob thing then anything else as it will mean lawn seats and just don't know if I'm up to it. :)
Avatar 12:43pm Cheri Pi:

they're very amicable.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:43pm coe:

@GG this is supposed to be their last tour due to Mick's health. There was supposedly a legal document signed and everything saying that after this tour they can never tour as Motley Crue again.
  12:44pm The Brooklyn Kid:

Afternoon Diane:)
Ooo:) that's sounds good! Souls being tortured on the bowels of HELL
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm coe:

Honestly I have nothing against MC as a whole as a band. I just have a really really really serious issue with Vince Neil as a person. I know that sounds strange but the man does truly make me physically ill.
Avatar 12:45pm V Priceless:

@ coe - Orianthi is smokin' on geetar...and not too shabby on the eyes either!
  12:46pm GG Allin Thicke:

@coe - thanks!

I'm looking forward to Motlie Crew 2016 tour
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm common:

i believe you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm coe:

I'll get my CRUE fix by going to see my buddies in Girls Girls Girls they do Crue better then Crue now a days anyway.
  12:48pm The Brooklyn Kid:

If William Burger is "the master of the macabre" than Diane is the "mistress of metal"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm coe:

@V Priceless I can by no means argue with you about your Orianthi statement on either point
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm Andrew Waterloo:

The only thing that bothered me about the Nigel cover was the vocal inflection around Nigel. It reeked of clever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51pm Andrew Waterloo:

Where does that place the Professor?
Avatar 12:52pm V Priceless:

@ Brooklyn Kid...or The 'Purveyorstress' of Punk, depending on your perspective, and the extent to which you wanna destroy the English language.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm Cubicle Carl:

oh man. This piece is heavy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm joe:

@GG totally missed your Motlie joke very clever :)
Avatar 12:56pm V Priceless:

nice delete there, DK! woo hoo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm COE:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm Andrew Waterloo:

It's always a bit of a joke when a band declares they're never going to tour again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm common:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm chris:

Love the prog-iness of this Voivod track. Wouldn't have recognized it as Voivod. Really cool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm coe:

I could be wrong but I think the document actually says they can not tour as Motley Crue unless it includes all 4 members.
  12:57pm sooGood:

This is more like it. Love Voivod!! Yeah!!
  12:59pm The Brooklyn Kid:

How about "the sister of sadism"
  1:00pm GG Allin Thicke:

@coe - I doubt the contract explicitly states all the ways to spell the band name.

They could just go by Nikki Sixx, blondie, and big dick
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm coe:

I guess that a chance you take when you sh*t talk peoples tastes.
Avatar 1:09pm Cheri Pi:

  1:11pm Derek:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm coe:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm efd:

Circus Of Power was such a great band! Loved to go see them when they were gigging around NYC, and those records are still killers!
  1:21pm Derek:

Garry,what about the original Garbage?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm chris:

That sounds like something that can actually happen in Topenga.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm coe:

I'll be buying a copy
Avatar 1:27pm Cecile:

Avatar 1:28pm Cecile:

was Alex tha guy with the amazing tattoo on I think his back?
Avatar 1:29pm Cecile:

I never dug the Crue. Always light on good melodies and stingy with good riffs.
Avatar 1:29pm Diane Kamikaze:

He's got great back and chest work..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm coe:

I bet Bowery Electric would book it.
Avatar 1:30pm Cecile:

Yeah, I remember a real intricate back tatttoo in the video - a circular kind of motif.
Avatar 1:31pm Cecile:

that Michael show was classic. He should come back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm coe:

I want to say his back piece is a Frazetta painting
Avatar 1:33pm Cecile:

Jerry is a talent monster.
Avatar 1:33pm Cecile:

it could be, coe. My memory isn't what it was.
Avatar 1:34pm Diane Kamikaze:

Yes he has the DEATH DEALER piece on his back
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm coe:

cover of first Molly Hatchet album
Avatar 1:36pm Cecile:

yeah, he really painted well for photography.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm coe:

So bummed I lived right around the corner from the museum for like 7 years and never went for some stupid reason and now it has moved out west I think. stupid stupid stupid.
Avatar 1:39pm V Priceless:

@ coe: nope...museum just reopened in Marshall's Creek PA...two exists into PA from Rt. 80!
Avatar 1:40pm V Priceless:

exits...ham-handed typist that I yam
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm coe:

Oh cool they left it in Marshall's Creek that is so cool. That is where he actually lived the Museum was actually a building on his front lawn.
Avatar 1:42pm V Priceless:

Avatar 1:44pm Cecile:

this has a really nice feel to it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm Cubicle Carl:

Where can you get Alex's books? I'm not able to find it in the usual places.
Avatar 1:46pm V Priceless:

yeah this is cool!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm chris:

@CC, I think he said lulu.com
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm Andrew Waterloo:

Hearing Raging Slab really brought me back.

  2:15pm ?:

Rat's been selling off his Damned stuff on ebay lately
Avatar 2:16pm Cecile:

they got better the longer they were around.
Avatar 2:17pm V Priceless:

why do you think the Pistols threw them off the first UK tour? Cause they could PLAY!
  2:18pm Dean:

Patricia, a.k.a. Mrs. Dave Vanian and former bassist for Damned, Sisters of Mercy, and The Bags, used to work the cosmetic counter at my local department store in Southern California.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm common:

you said it, alex! as i text.
Avatar 2:27pm Cecile:

Have them give you Celebrex. It's an NSAID, not an opiate.
  2:28pm Derek:

I came across some new group on FB calls themselves Crucial Truth. WTF?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30pm Andrew Waterloo:

This is like running home after school to watch the Power Hour.
Avatar 2:31pm V Priceless:

we're a culture that has become used to masking the pain rather than curing the underlying cause. Western doctors in the pocket of 'Big Pharma' are as much to blame for this phenom as anyone, probably more so, IMO!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm Andrew Waterloo:

I think it's more the instant gratification thing. People don't want to be bothered with things they don't enjoy immediately. I think that' part of the reason so much is a just a rehash of something old.
Avatar 2:35pm Cecile:

And people are also hesitant to confront drs when something isn't working. They gave me muscle relaxants when I had back trouble. They didn't help that much, but they were great with alcohol. I was on my way to developing a nice little cross dependency. Someone suggested physical therapy, and I asked to get off the muscle relaxants. They gave me Celebrex, which is ibuprofen on steroids. I learned ways to hold my back and exercises, and the Celebrex helped with the inflammation without knocking me out. I never looked back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:36pm coelacanth:

DAMN i missed the first 2 1/4 hours; have to catch the archive,as usual. Thank you Diane, and Thank you Alex for, amongst other things, words of wisdom.

V Priceless -i agree...though crisis intervention, which should be their only function, possibly saved my life yesterday.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm coe:

how interesting he choose to make a statement like that today of all days.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm coelacanth:

This guy is right up my alley.
Avatar 2:41pm V Priceless:

yes..another fascinating Peer Pressure show, Diane! Thanks!
Avatar 2:43pm Cecile:

I always thought Circus of Power were more metal. Today they sound a lot more hard rock/blues rock to me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Andrew Waterloo:

@cecile, same here.
Avatar 2:45pm V Priceless:

I'm liking this Cap. Zap.
Avatar 2:46pm Cecile:

yeah, I would have never seek out this record if Diane didn't play it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm Andrew Waterloo:

yeah, I forgot about most of this stuff, I don't think I would have reconsidered if it weren't for Diane.
