Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm Caryn:

Kurt, are you gonna play a selection from "Jesus Christ Superstar" in memory of the John Lydon version that is now not to be? Saddest music news of the week.
  3:20pm P-90::

@ coel: yes, after staring at this gif and doing deep rhythmic meditative breathing, I have acknowledged the truth that this image may represent the demonic possession of Alice Cooper by Don Knotts, rather than the other way around, as a non-initiate would assume
  3:21pm Dean:

Don Alice Cooper-Knotts

  4:38pm Dean:

I know two or three things about Czech opera: 1) Jarmila, 2) Novotná, and I'll get back to you about the third one. Can't find the record I particularly enjoy. It's a recital of folk songs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39pm common:

"Chci žít v Americe, rádio je dobré v Americe ...
Pigeon vysoký v Americe, Minotaur malé v Americe ... "
Avatar 4:44pm Cecile:

I saw George Clinton on American Restoration yesterday.
He wanted his old piano fixed. They cleaned it up and painted the inside to match the different colors in his hair.
  4:44pm Carmichael:

Mmm ... Czech beersies. Love your setlist thus far, Kurt. Did Frangry tell you my warning from last week's SUW show was "My minotaur is miniature"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:47pm northguineahills:

I love to that, Cecile.
Avatar 4:48pm Kurt Gottschalk:

carm, ha! no!
  4:48pm P-90:

Czech lyrics translated:

"I want to live in America, the radio's good in America...
Pigeon is tall in America, Minotaurs small in America..."
Avatar 4:49pm nak11:

Avatar 5:08pm Cecile:

  5:12pm Dean:

On hold before a conference call just now. The music is a Muzak'd "Steets with No Name," U2. So deserving.
Avatar 5:22pm nak11:

Hi Clay, greetings from the Canadian!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:25pm northguineahills:

Howdeez Clay!

Kurt, gotta eat. Thanks for a wonderful afternoon. Enjoy the weekend everyone!
  5:26pm Lawrence:

my ex wife is haunting you. she'd do that you know.
Avatar 5:29pm Droll:

It looks like "In Stereo" was never really part of the album's title. The early releases are mono, and the rereleases are in stereo. The way the artwork on the cover was modified on some reissues makes it appear as the name is "Jazz Party in Stereo", but the proper name is just "Jazz Party". There are definitely albums in Discogs that have different titles when the release changed the name (ie: The Power Station 33 1/3 vs. The Power Station CD vs. The Power Station DVD).
Avatar 5:30pm Droll:

Correction: Mono and Stereo versions were released at the same time in 1959, presumably only the hi-fi snobs bought the stereo version.
Avatar 5:33pm Kurt Gottschalk:

thanks, droll. i will continue to think of it as 'jazz party in stereo' tho. or maybe do my own record called that.
Avatar 5:35pm Looms:

Hi Cecile, I'm ashamed to say that I can't remember when I last tuned in to Kurt's show live but our regular friday evening tarot party (en.wikipedia.org...) is happening at my loft tonight.

btw, big hail to Kate Bush!
Avatar 5:36pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Back from prolonged mtg. Nice Kate. A favorite album, this.
Avatar 5:36pm Looms:

"huge hail"?
Avatar 5:36pm Cecile:
