@Edgar: respectfully, I think Dave's tone with the guests is perfect. If you can hear how they're reacting, they seem quite comfortable talking with him...
@ALSO: Dave is like the first person ever to interview someone and admit that he HASN'T read their book from cover-to-cover.
Can you imagine Charlie Rose, or Oprah, saying straight-up "I haven't read it all yet, I just skipped around in it to get the gist"?

Danne D:

@Edgar - Tom left on his own accord. He's trying to put together Best Show 2014. If you've been away for a year you have a lot of archives to catch up on in the meantime.

If Dave's show is not your taste, so be it. I will say this is the first guest on a topic of this sort of a gravity - it's a departure from what's come before.

If the guests were truly upset I'm sure they'd have no problem cutting things short and finding the way to the door.

This is not a show to replace Tom's show - in the sense of it being a "New Best Show" - that's an impossibility. This is it's own new show and will go in the way Dave and the audience takes it.

And what Cam said.

Avatar 10:39pm

@bod - got through needing the dough - had to add more water and oil than I originally put in there, I think I started with a little too much flour. This happened last time though and the pizza came out okay.

Kneaded the dough (I have the radio on in the other room so I haven't missed the interview) - now I'm waiting for the dough to rise.

I'll probably let it rise twice.

Why is my dad pretending to be some guy named "Edgar" in the chat tonight? Like I'm not gonna know it's him.

This is the only way the banjo should EVER be played, nowadays. We've all heard the Flat & Scruggs approach, and as sometimes great as trad. Bluegrass is to hear live, much like Dubstep, it all pretty much sounds the same to me.

LOL Dave.

Kudos to Dave for having Brandon Seabrook on his show tonight! I was totally shocked to see that he'd be playing tonight via Brian Turner's PL.

Who are Brandon's influence musically? regardless of instrument. What's inspiring this wonderful madness I'm hearing?

Its funny how people think the comments board is for them to critique the DJ.
Avatar 11:43pm
Shaun(ununun):

Does Brandon's band The Tanks with Toby Driver & Ches Smith have any plans to do any recorded material? Would love to hear them and I'm not in the NYC area.

P-90:

Sounds like he's tapping the top of the banjo while he's playing, too- -very original
I gotta wonder what Jerry Garcia would've thought of this
