Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05am jj.:

hi all, filling in for therese this eve!
  12:10am Phillip.(Brooklyn):

Well we know that:-)
  12:11am Phillip.(Brooklyn):

Sounds like movie soundtrack music
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15am SeanG:

night time fmu is the best
Avatar 12:30am Droll:

Lovely sound, this IBJ featuring Sweaty Teddy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37am pacific standard simon:

Might as well jump.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39am pacific standard simon:

Why do I get the feeling that Peter Tork, as a career manager, was just as inept as he was portrayed on The Monkees?
  12:43am Scott Carlson:

Always a good sign to hop onto the stream and hear Peter Tork at CBGBs
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47am jj.:

probably the same could be said for any ex-monkee besides nesmith. tork was definitely way, way smarter than his character, though.
  12:52am rw:

My friend Lynne has a pretty funny story about P. Tork melting a coffee pot on her stovetop. Hearing the story I got the impression he wasn't doing so well after the Monkees thing. He was always my favorite Monkee as a kid watching the show though.
  12:55am nate:

mickey dolenz was on the cutting edge with the moog synthesizer...without him there would be no stereolab.
  12:56am rw:

Just sitting here trying to imagine a world without Stereolab...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57am jj.:

yeah, his post-monkees years were a bummer, sounds like. would love to hear the demos, though.
  12:59am nate:

stereolab definitely inspired a lot of crummy late 90s bands, which is probably why tom scharpling hated mickey dolenz.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01am pacific standard simon:

I love Peter too, just thought there was a bit of Stockholm Syndrome going on in his post-TV career. Stephen Stills must feel very lucky (and talented).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08am pacific standard simon:

So goodnight, it's late. Pfft!
Avatar 1:09am Droll:

Bonglestar Galactabong *IS* the best band name. Full stop.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10am Andrew Waterloo:

good evening
Avatar 1:11am Droll:

Independence Day, not "July 4th". It's a holiday celebrating overthrowing bad, non-responsive government.
  1:13am Scott In Dubai:

Hey, man... Mike Love, not war.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15am jj.:

  1:16am Scott In Dubai:

Somewhere, I have the actual HATE annual comic that was printed in. I photocopied the drawing and put it up in my wall.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18am jj.:

i likewise have a xerox of the article, with the mike love illustration hanging over my desk.

When a click in the vinyl goes from the left channel to the right channel, I give that click extra points.
  2:03am rw:

Enjoying this last bit of drift, but I'm suddenly having trouble distinguishing real from imaginary.
  2:08am neil:

hello jessie. thanks for these tunes!!! my brain hole needed a fix post nat roes departure...aaahhhh yes drifting....
  2:25am neil:

keepin it real.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27am fleep:

or imaginary.
  2:36am neil:

keepin it toxic. hello fleep. <hope u r well><not in a well><lassie get help>
  2:38am rw:

So... maybe it's just my imagination, but I haven't noticed anybody being off their game. Maybe I haven't been paying close enough attention. Particularly enjoyed the amplified scissors, etc. by the way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47am fleep:

Hey, neil, things are swimming along here, I miss Nat Roe noises, too, his finds at the heart of each show were special.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48am jj.:

thanks, rw, maybe it's all in me 'ead.
  2:52am rw:

Gotta watch the 'ead. It'll play tricks on you. Not sure it's always working in one's best interest. Or... maybe it is...
In any case, thanks for an excellent few hours of radio this evening (morning)!
  2:55am son jumber:

nice frow, jj.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55am fleep:

Yet another show to revisit in the archive. Almost midnight in L.A., thanks for a great way to wind down the evening, jj.
