These guys are Pallas cat kittens. They are wild!

I think it may be a closely guarded secret among the TYO producers that the show was in fact written for (and perhaps partially by) cats.

Ringo had to be in his thirties when he recorded this. Not okay, Ringo.

Thanks for the cat info -- never heard of them before. Looks like a really interesting species! (oh feline nerdery...)

There's another Pallas cat gif on my profile page - total coincidence.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm
listener james from westwood:

Jim Peterik wrote those "Vehicle" lyrics after running across one of those scare-pamphlets used to warn kids about drugs/sex/strangers. He came up with the refrain when he was driving to pick up his then ex-girlfriend/later wife, who still wanted to use his car for this & that, and he said to himself, "I guess I'm just your vehicle, baby!" And he put the two together. /useless_trivia

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm
Doug Schulkind:

A number of years ago, Budweiser or some other horsepiss outfit did a radio commercial masquerading as a Public Service Announcement. Its subject was "drinking and driving," and it featured a freakishly spot-on cover of "Vehicle." The only real difference was in the vocal refrain. It went: "I'm your vehicle baby, I'm your designated driver."

Even useless-er trivia would be the reason for the band name. Wikithingum says it's 'cuz one of the band members read "Julius Caesar." Well, yeah, but still, why?

I obviously have not listened to enough Johnny Paycheck ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm
listener james from westwood:

@Dean: That's basically the same story as in the biography I read.
@Amanda: It compensates for the occasional programming book that's way above my pay grade to understand. :) I also edited Satriani's for the same publisher, but I enjoyed Peterik's more. My editing notes for Satch were mostly musical instruments and recording equipment, organized by type. The pedals alone were legion!!
