Sorry I'm late.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm listener james from westwood:

How do, all!
Avatar 2:02pm Monica:

hola, matt, UM, and LJFW - such a great album!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm Matt F:

Hello to all three of you, and to the other three listeners as well!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm Jeff Golick:

Gotta make it 123 four!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm Lizardner Dave:

I'm here until I have to go into a meeting at 3.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm Nate K:

If I had a time machine, this concert (the It's Alive! show) would be one of my first stops...right after killing Hitler.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm Matt F:

That show is on youtube in its entirety. Fuckin' electrifying.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm listener james from westwood:

If you kill Hitler first, does the song "Blitzkrieg Bop" fade from the space-time continuum?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm Uncle Michael:

It's a long story...but since Nate killed Hitler, the concert never happened.
Avatar 2:11pm glenn:

a person should really get three time machine wishes.
Avatar 2:12pm glenn:

and what about all the great hitler rants? would you really deprive us of so much humour?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Matt F:

Yeah, no Hitler=no Dee Dee.
Avatar 2:13pm Dominick:

Sctop Friz Freleng!
Avatar 2:13pm Monica:

matt, got any elaine stritch? she just went to that great dressing room in the rafters.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm Uncle Michael:

Damn...were supposed to meet for lunch.
  2:15pm sugarwolf:

Hi hi hi listening on my lunch break.
Avatar 2:16pm glenn:

she's exchanging anecdotes with johnny winter.
Avatar 2:17pm still b/p:

If I had a time machine, I'd go back a couple hours and choose NOT to get my haircut today from the guy who drives me mad -- MAD! -- with his relentless, cut-interrupting, slowww nonsense stories and perspectives. Then I'd go back further and slip something into Stalin's soup.
  2:17pm Whilst:

@Matt I thought that Johnny was the one obsessed with the Nazi bullshit?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm MattBelow:

Cheers to Tommy! Cheers to Fiveash! And hello all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Matt F:

Yeah but DeeDee was an army brat who grew up partially on bases in Germany.
Avatar 2:19pm duke:

Howdy Matt and all. Liking this Hank Ballard tune a lot.
  2:20pm Whilst:

Oh I see...thanks. Great short tribute there...I thought you were going for 2 hours on that;Which would of been great. But the show still is...
  2:23pm Lore:

Cookie was such a great singer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm Jeff Golick:

Gotta reclaim Wolf from the double-outdoor-tub people.
Avatar 2:27pm glenn:

i'll say it again - howlin' wolf is the greatest. full stop.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm Matt F:

"Back Door Man" would've been a more interesting choice for the Cialis commercial...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm Jeff Golick:

Avatar 2:29pm glenn:

double outdoor tub? i don't get it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm Jeff Golick:

@glenn: www.psychologytoday.com...

You probably don't watch a lot of MLB or NFL games on TV?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm listener james from westwood:

70 years in the rock world is like 125 in accounting.
Avatar 2:33pm glenn:

i hate the n.f.l., and i only watch my (currently blowing chunks) blue jays on canadian t.v.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm Jeff Golick:

...and I think a Viagra ad used "Smokestack Lightning." I was sort of jumping all over the place.
Avatar 2:34pm Dominick:

Mmmm hmmmmm
  2:34pm Zev:

@Jeff G, Does Andy Shernoff know about this?
Avatar 2:35pm glenn:

prudence gourcheron is a pretty good name for a shrink, i gotta say.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:36pm pacific standard simon:

What fool actually gave me a day off work to listen to this nonsense?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm Jeff Golick:

@Matt F: had similar trouble in Studio C on Monday. I have no advice to give you, other than to keep trying.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:38pm drr:

This Comin' Up Fast song is kind of....nauseating.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm drr:

(sorry Johnny)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm Matt F:

First recorded use of the ultra-low crowd control noise that makes everyone in a 1 mile radius shit their pants!
  2:40pm dc waters:

Holy Muddy Wolf and Howlin' Waters, this be some mighty fine listening on a mighty fine Thursday.
  2:42pm Whilst:

@Matt yeah that Bass intro was sick...at first I thought it was a overloaded synth patch or somethinorother!.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm pacific standard simon:

How did Shelley forget to mention tangling with rattlesnakes?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm listener james from westwood:

PSS: That's in the next country-song premium, possibly grouped under Snake Handling.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm Doug Schulkind:

Hey barkeep, another round of vodka stingers! Good afternoon, Ladies!
  3:04pm Jack:

Fabulous version of this song, rocks the pants off the Velvet's (and I love the Velvet's). As of the Velvets had some blues roots...
  3:05pm Zev:

Hey! It's the Raceway Park in Englishtown NJ radio ad music. (I was searching for that tune for years, until one day John Neilson named it based purely by my description in the music forum on echonyc)
  3:06pm Whilst:

This version of Rock & Roll really has a "Mott" kinda feel big time.Great!.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm listener james from westwood:

Doug! Mitch! Lou! Dr. Scott! Rocky! [grunts]
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm Uncle Michael:

It sounds like Mitch is having a heart attack right near the end of this track.
  3:08pm Jack:

Go Mitch!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm Artie:

Who says guitars can't honk?
  3:11pm Zev:

(The Underthings dug up "Long Neck Goose" from that same Detroit LP and did it justice.)
Avatar 3:13pm glenn:

ah, junior.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Matt F:

I was in the Underthings (Mach 2). That's how I found out about the Mitch/Detroit album, from Brett the Mach 1 bassist who I replaced in that band. I also ended up taking over his apartment when he moved out of NYC. Never dated any of his ex-wives though, just to save you from having to ask...
Avatar 3:17pm Mailman Tom:

Great show today, Matt !
Avatar 3:23pm Dervish:

This guy is pretty good. Does he have any other records out?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24pm Matt F:

Mo- Sorry no Elaine Stritch today. I bet Therese will do something on Sunday. Mailman Tom: Thanx!
Avatar 3:27pm glenn:

are you sure this isn't freddie king?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm pacific standard simon:

That was a set to shake your fillings loose...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm Matt F:

glenn- reasonable question! but no, George Woods.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm SeanG:

this is sweet! Hola Matt! Tuning in from Prospect Hill, summahville
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm pacific standard simon:

I'd be interested in knowing the name of the bass player on that George Woods recording.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm Doug Schulkind:

There will be no Give the Drummer Some show tomorrow on the stream, BUT (and a very plump but a that) there will be six solid hours of Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael. The fun begins extruding at 9am and won't stop until the tube is completely empty at 3pm. (And no, you can't put it back when it's over.) You can reserve a seat here: wfmu.org...
Avatar 3:37pm Dominick:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm Matt F:

Scummahville Represent!
  3:41pm John Funke:

My favorite Elvis song. Thanks, pal!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm Matt F:

Johnzie- that's me ripping off what you did last week. A common theme for this show!
  3:48pm John Funke:

Ha! So you're the one listening!
  3:52pm Jaro:

Damn this is good. Did I miss a Charlie Haden tribute show?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:53pm Matt F:

You arrived just in time for the perfunctory nod to Charlie.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55pm pacific standard simon:

Charlie and Tommy are playing bluegrass together in the wild blue yonder.
  3:56pm Jaro:

Is this one of those LA hipster bands in the 90s that his daughters were in?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm Uncle Michael:

Great show today Matt. Thanks!
Avatar 3:57pm Dominick:

what he said
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Matt F:

Tanx guyz.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm pacific standard simon:

What they said.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm listener james from westwood:

From the Ramones to Hank! Where else but WFMU? Thanks, Matt!
  4:00pm Jack:

Great mix, thanks for the show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm Jeff Golick:
