For what it's worth, I ve put my time in studying Paul's playing too, and I heard McCartney-INfluenced playing on that track, not Paul himself. I could be wrong of course...

@Pufnstuf Dude: Yes! I had to leave halfway through, but I'll definitely listen to the rest of the "Loss Leaders" epic, at least once. And playing them in order was absolutely the way to go. That may be the ONLY such comprehensive review of those that's ever been done, and they're worth it, an overlooked bit of music biz history. Bravo.

@ "CECECD" Is really weird, it's not an "open" tuning or a "fourths" tuning, or a slide tuning, just weird. If you Google it you ONLY see it associated with Blackshaw's name. Apparently its a 12-string tuning, but did he tune all the stings in octaves, or just the first four? Must investigate.

P-90, I love the close-tuned strings like the CD pair, easier to make tight clusters and piano-like voicings. On a 12-string the high E course is going to be clashing with the high D string -- all those notes are going to be crammed in together. Very cool dense sounds!
