Avatar 12:06am KP:

Hey Therese, it was nice to catch Ira playing your version of "Ladies Who Lunch" on Friday. I've heard it before and it's great but as tribute to Stritch it was extra special.

Time for a dental set? There's a Hawkwind song with drill sounds, and a Green Day video with a dentist setting...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07am Therese:

Thanks, KP!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:08am pacific standard simon:

Ooo, trippy!

If you don't let on, we think it's on purpose.
  12:11am P-90:

SUZI! Hi Therese!
Swag For Life Member 12:11am phat:

Why don't I listen to Suzi Quatro more?
  12:12am Steve-O:

Hi Therese! So glad you're back. How ya doin'? =)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12am pacific standard simon:

...and "Bite Down Hard" by Ted Nugent.
  12:14am coalhard:

The gang is all here ! I vote we all say stuff
Avatar 12:14am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...on porpoise? Hello. Goodnight...
  12:15am Steve-O:

Also, did I detect a hint of the 007 Theme in that Alice Cooper song? =)
  12:18am JakeGould:

I knew them when they were “Cock Sparrow.” Nyeah.
  12:19am coalhard:

seems to me I once read Vincent was an honorary cop dunno
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21am pacific standard simon:

Psycotic Pineapple -- it should be against the law to play one of their songs without posting a pic of one of their gig posters.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22am pacific standard simon:

Pynoman is my hero.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26am pacific standard simon:

Michael Shelley once toured with Shonen Knife, but I've never heard him talk about it.
Avatar 12:33am BadGuyZero:

That interview with Suzi was fantastic! Julie also played a nice sampling of Suzi's tunes during the show too.
  12:35am Steve-O:

@BadGuyZero: I thought so too. Suzi is a *true* musical genius, IMO. =D
Swag For Life Member 12:42am phat:

007 and I Spy in that Alice Cooper song.
  12:43am P-90:

@BGZ and Steve-O: She's a real musical talent and also a very striong, engaging personality. After Julie's show w/Suzi, I went and read and watched a slew of other interviews with and articles about Suzi. Julie's interview got me interested to catch up on Suzi and her career/life.
  12:43am coalhard:

according to special holiday list today is national junk food day in America finally
Avatar 12:44am BadGuyZero:

I miss Elaine Stritch so much already. :(

  1:06am coalhard:

I would love to live forever but think about it would get boring
  1:09am Phillip.(Brooklyn):

Bobby blitz from overkill I am shocked the band is still around making music
  1:10am Phillip.(Brooklyn):

Threse? I use to listen to WSOU and I remember the bobby blitz station ID he did
  1:11am Phillip.(Brooklyn):

You can say I got my "metal education" listening to WSOU in the 1980's
  1:11am nate:

I saw him at a club somewhere and couldn't believe he still had a career...that was in 1993
  1:12am coalhard:

I think we should be afraid of robots they will eliminate us
  1:13am nate:

not all of us coalhard, there will always be a place for bobby blitz
  1:14am Phillip.(Brooklyn):

One song by "overkill" that I like it's called "on union we stand" it's from the "taking over" album
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:14am Ken From Hyde Park:

@Phillip.(Brooklyn) - I picked up some friends at Newark Airport back then and we found WSOU. That station certainly played the metal.
  1:15am Phillip.(Brooklyn):

Threse? I didn't know you worked at WSOU. I remember almost every DJ that was there in the 80's and 90's
  1:15am coalhard:

maybe why we haven't detected life elsewhere machines taken over universe
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18am Therese:

Yup, I was on in the early/mid 90s. Rather fallow years for metal, but...
Avatar 1:22am BadGuyZero:

In the early 90s Ace played this dive metal bar in Dallas. I didn't go to the show, but I showed up later in hopes of getting my hot pink "Hotter Than Hell" LP signed. His people had requested that we clear a path so he could get to the van and promised that he would sign stuff on his way to the van. When he emerged from the venue he was clearly having some gravitational issues. He waved off anything presented for him to sign. I was right next to the van and before I could ask him to sign my record he said "I'm about to throw up." So I shoved him into the van so he didn't do it on me.
  1:24am coalhard:

can a machine without a soul have a taste in music HELL NO therefore I rule them obsolete
Avatar 1:24am Droll:

I'm gonna try that line! I'll bet you get your way every time.
  1:27am nate:

i went to house of guitars in rochester the other day, there were so many metal autographs everywhere...also a bunch of unworn fine young cannibals shirts
  1:37am coalhard:

next life form please step up --oh your mineral ?
  1:40am Phillip.(Brooklyn):

I remember nearly breaking my stereo to tune in WSOU
  1:41am Julie:

aw man I missed Suzi!
  1:41am Phillip.(Brooklyn):

Monday night mayhem with missy closso
  1:42am coalhard:

seems we have life form that lives on pure energy--they eat electrons and shit energy read about it
  1:45am Phillip.(Brooklyn):

I remember having a Columba house subscription. And I could not find one record they played on WSOU in the whole fricken catalog!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48am Tome:

Reganomics ,, stirring people away from Judas Priest / Iron Maiden,,, in favor of Huey Lewis and the News ...
  1:48am Phillip.(Brooklyn):

I had to buy from a place called "Harvard square records" in Boston. I paid $35 dollars for the album by Kings-X "out of the silent planet"
Avatar 1:49am BadGuyZero:

Discogs confirms that the title of that Freedom Family record is "Ayentsoo." It was originally released in 1977 by EMI.
  1:50am coalhard:

a cup of these bastards could put oil companies out of business they will fight
  1:54am Julie:

I'll stop the world and melt with you
  1:56am Julie:

Harvard Square records used to have a catalog
Avatar 2:01am BadGuyZero:

I had a hunch this was a band on either Captured Tracks or Slumberland. :D
  2:01am coalhard:

does FMU get finance from big oil if answer is yes --I will never listen again
  2:03am coalhard:

actually I have checked records you are dirty--shame on you
Avatar 2:05am egal:

Have you helped to finance WFMU coalhard?
  2:07am Phillip.(Brooklyn):

@julie if it wasn't for that catalog I would have never gotten the music of WSOU
  2:08am coalhard:

thankfully no they are dirty
Avatar 2:16am BadGuyZero:

And Uncle Ed Leo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24am Ken From Hyde Park:

Happy 45th anniversary of landing on the moon (yesterday, I forgot to post).
Avatar 2:28am BadGuyZero:

I hope there's a band somewhere called Shake Weight.
Avatar 2:56am BadGuyZero:
