Nadine Duchamp:

Hello, PGB, hello fellow listeners. that was a funny song. I usually am only on this chat during Mary Wing's show. She sent me an amazing comp!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09am
PGB:

Morning (here in Jersey City). Mary's a dear!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12am
Sem Chumbo:

Man, thios is so very early '80's. The drum sound, the rhythm guitar....nice ride down a bumpy memory lane.
  3:19am
P-90:

Good Morning and Welcome to the BillZone: DJ PGB, Nadine, Sem
  3:19am
Bette as Nadine:

We love Mary. These are good @shem does seem from the 80s but unrecognizable to me. Its midnight ish in Oakland, and we're cleaning before bed so we can walk in the sun tomorrow.
  3:23am
Bette as Nadine:

Was that a bit of bohemian rhapsody there?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24am
PGB:

I missed that. I'll have to listen again. If you could see the waveform, there was a huge DC offset during that interlude, though.
  3:24am
Bette as Nadine:

Memory lanes are so bumpy!
Avatar 3:27am
Nadine Duchamp:

The audacity! "DC offset is a mean amplitude displacement from zero. In Audacity it can be seen as an offset of the recorded waveform away from the center zero point. DC offset is a potential source of clicks, distortion and loss of audio volume."

Brian in UK:

Hello PGB & folks. Great start, I need some driving music. Just about to set off down to Devonshire.
So Nadine it was THe Muffs. A WFMU favourite.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28am
Sem Chumbo:

@Bette A.N.: sure thing. Up and down, up and down:)
Hiya, P-90.
Avatar 3:28am

Avatar 3:30am
Nadine Duchamp:

Hi P-90! and Fleep was here for tha last show with Sam, alright! Hello Brian, sounds like fun! I don't remember hearing the Shaggs here, but I believe you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32am
Sem Chumbo:

@Brian in UK: and what do you expect to see from a Torquay hotel window, a herd of wildebeest...?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34am
Brian in UK:

Ooops. The Shaggs. Remember last week.

Going to mid Devon. No seaside. Peter Cook was born in Torquay. No many people know that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34am
Brian in UK:

What's the difference twixt a buffalo and a bison?

You cannot wash your hands in a buffalo. Ta Daa.
Avatar 3:36am
Nadine Duchamp:

Yes, the Shaggs! I was asking last week. Thank you! That was silly in retrospect since I googled "weird 3 sisters basement band" and it came up right away
Avatar 3:37am
Nadine Duchamp:

Spatulator (formerly elwyn5150):

Yay for Chicks on Speed! But I am confused - I thought their current album was called Utopia.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34am
PGB:

This is the album we've got in the new bin here at the station. I wonder if it's some pre-release version with a different title.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39am
Spatulator (formerly elwyn5150):

I've tried some googling and am still confused. In March or April, I saw CoS in Sydney and bought Utopia at the show and talked to them. It was just a CD - they hadn't gotten the artwork in time.

Yet, this is a recent article where it mentions Artstravaganza coming out in October. www.anothermag.com...

,,,,nnnnthe chemtrail nozzles still spray on ruining our otherwise blue sky nndissipating the precious waterclouds from the sky,,,,at least it is out here it is ! Flesh eating might become a thing of the past. At least maybe it will straighten out the priorities of land management. Good Show !!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:42am
PGB:

Good link. Was "Burning Down the House" on your Utopia album? Maybe it has something to do with being in the southern hemisphere...or chemtrails.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44am
Spatulator (formerly elwyn5150):

"Burning Down the House" was the last track - there are a total of 14 tracks on Utopia.

Also, kudos for playing Nils Lofgren. He's got a great voice amongst all his other talents.

Avatar 5:43am

I made dinner (although midnight snack is more apropos for my time zone) cooked it and ate it while listening to this show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44am
PGB:

Just fixed the playlist, DFKS!
Avatar 5:45am
Nadine Duchamp:

@PGB Why do we bring our calculators?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46am
PGB:

In order to adjust for reciprocity failure.
Avatar 5:47am
Nadine Duchamp:

I don't get it...
Avatar 5:50am
Nadine Duchamp:

But then again, just having fun while I try to get through chores n eating and all that good stuff because I'm constantly fighting with my blood sugar levels, fun stuff. But now its time to wind down and get some shut eye in a few. Hope you had fun, since we sure did!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55am
PGB:

It's a term from photography. Exposure time and aperture are inversely related (until they're not)...and that's reciprocity failure. ("That explains nothing, PGB!")
Avatar 5:57am
Nadine Duchamp:

Phootgraphy! I don't know much about the art. Anyways, thanks for the music !!
Avatar 5:58am
Nadine Duchamp:

Keep thinking of "BGP", old employer, when I see PGB.
  5:59am
P-90:

Thanks DJ PGB! "See" you next time!
