  9:07pm jack:

hey no chatters ?
  9:08pm P-90:

Hi dave! that clip of Elvis at the very top of the show reminded me that Milton Berle actually seemed to "get" Elvis, he dug what he was doing and especially saw how he connected with an audience.
The opposite of Steve Allen, who just felt the need to fight off rock 'n' roll as hard as he could.
  9:09pm jack:

I always get banned from chats somehow
  9:11pm jack:

Hey I had some bloody marys today, I am a master at making those things lol

Avatar 9:59pm bobdoesthings:

@fuzzy.. yeah although grado is know for being treble heavy and light on bass.. I love the look of Grados and people say great things..
  9:59pm P-90:

@bobdoesthings: You said you were looking for really good headphones that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I recommend you check out the "PSB M4U 1" model. Really state-of-the art sound, great design, best bang for the buck.
  10:00pm jack:

geez don't anybody listen to this good stuff
  10:01pm P-90:

And if you take some time to check, the PSB's consistently beat the Grados in independent comparison tests.
  10:02pm JakeGould:

Stop talking headphones!!!!
Avatar 10:02pm bobdoesthings:

as I drunkenly ranted about on EFD's show last night - which I will try not to do tonight. heheh

@P-90 .. was curious before when you said "book'im danno" so I looked it up. Being a young'un, am I missing something with this reference from Hawaii Five-O ? Never heard of this show.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19pm Stevel:

On tour with a drum and bugle corps. Read about Elvis (and a Pope, sometime that summer, I believe) in newspaper boxes, somewhere in Washington state.
  11:19pm P-90:

@bob: Dave played a record of Sammy Davis Jr. singing those ridiculous lyrics to the Theme from Hawaii 50 which was an instumental number, and a hit for The Vemtures and a couple of othrrp instrumental, Surf-type bands that released covers. Wonder where old Sammy got those lyrics?
  11:23pm P-90:

I was living in LA but visiting New York on summer vacation. It was a hot sweaty sticky summer as I recall, and I believe it was the summer if "Son of Sam"...
Avatar 11:25pm bobdoesthings:

thanks
  11:25pm P-90:

(OF Son of Sam)
  11:25pm Carmichael:

Hiya Dave and spazzes. Sammy also sings the Alka Seltzer commercials. Plop plop fizz fizz, oh what a relief it is.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29pm pacific standard simon:

...and the "My Mother The Car" theme song, of course. All hail Jerry Van Dyke!
  11:30pm P-90:

The actual day Elvis was found dead on the toilet, a buddy and I went to see The Spy Who Loved Me, I think we watched it rwice that afternoon because it was so hot out and the AC was turned way up on the theater.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31pm Greg from Bloomfield:

"Blue Hawaii" is my favorite Elvis, and I don't care who knows it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34pm pacific standard simon:

Heh - my wife found "Elvis/Blue Hawaii" print fabric, and made me pajamas out of it!
  11:36pm P-90:

"...if everyone thought the same we'd all drive the same car and be married to the same woman. And that just wouldn't work.out."
......especially for that poor woman
  11:37pm Carmichael:

@P-90: I was sitting watching TV with my mother, waiting for my girlfriend to pick me up and drive me to the Air Force induction station. The special bulletin announced his death. She has long been my wife, and he has long been dead.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38pm Greg from Bloomfield:

@pss - DEAR GOD. If she has enough to make extras I'll gladly commission some...
  11:41pm P-90:

pss: every time you mention Mrs. pss, she seems cooler and cooler...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41pm Greg from Bloomfield:

www.youtube.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43pm pacific standard simon:

@Greg - I just asked her, and she said she donated all her leftover fabric when we moved. Sorry. :(
  11:43pm Carmichael:

Dave, you could play Mojo Nixon's Elvis is Everywhere about now.
  11:46pm P-90:

pss: could you post a photo of that Elvis/Blue Hawaii print fabric somewhere? Now I'm trying to imagine it...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46pm pacific standard simon:

P-90, she's not cool enough to listen to this show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46pm Greg from Bloomfield:

@pss - To the internet!
  11:47pm Carmichael:

In Blue Hawaii, I think his character's name was "Rick". Seems ironic, somehow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48pm pacific standard simon:

Sure -- I'll need some daylight for the picture, though.
  11:49pm P-90:

Maybe she's TOO cool to listen to this show...?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51pm pacific standard simon:

In 2000 years, people will be arguing over whether Elvis really existed at all.
  11:56pm P-90:

Did you guys hear Suzy Quattro's story, Elvis heard she was in town on tour and he tracked down her hotel, called her and invited her to Graceland. She said no!
Avatar 11:56pm bobdoesthings:

great show dave! thanks!
  11:57pm P-90:

Thanks Dave & Bingo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57pm Greg from Bloomfield:

In case I haven't said it in a while, I fucking love this show.
  3:47pm Hackensack Slim:

Candy Bars for Elvis.

Clark Bar.... Zagnut...???

I just gotta know.
  8:56am correction:

Once again, you played "Kanjinchou" by Ventures-inspired Japanese surf band Takeshi "Terry" Terauchi & the Bunnies, but misidentified it.

You can listen to a sample of "Kanjinchou," as the first track on:
http://www.amazon.com/Seichou-Terauchi-Bushi-Takeshi-Bunnys/dp/B00HXBEULY
You can listen to a sample of "Terry's Theme" - not what you played - as the first track on:
