Kat in Chicago:

Evan, I can relate a bit to your situation on Wednesday a bit. I had a previously booked guest this past Monday who I adore but whose music wasn't the best fit with the mood of things outside the studio. I'm on FB and Twitter during my show and had to force myself to stay off my news feeds as much as possible. Kudos on your opening set tonight, impeccable selection.

Hello UM!

Spider Bags s/b a great show. Might have to listen to Nate live rather than archive. Although need Nate's archives for dog walking purposes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17pm
efd:

@Kat, thanks for sharing that... it can be tough to negotiate the real and radio worlds.

Glad (some of) you enjoyed my new Southern character.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17pm
Uncle Michael:

I'd like to ask Ace how "New York Groove" came to his attention.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:18pm
efd:

I was wondering that too, UM. I have to assume that will be covered.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19pm
Uncle Michael:

I'd also like to know how satisfying it was for his to be the only of the four solo albums to spawn a hit.
  10:21pm
?:

ohh who the hell am I kidding evan, I just can't leave you in the dark, i'm here to stay. ignore my last two comments, I also loved your southern accent!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24pm
efd:

Seems like it would be somewhat of a hollow victory (if it was a victory at all) since it wasn't even his own song. Still felt good though, I bet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26pm
Uncle Michael:

I guess it depends how early on it was understood that it would be the single. You release a single...it's a hit...a win.
  10:26pm
Albert Pujols:

YEAH MAM
  10:27pm
?:

yeah,,don't stop the disco, evan!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27pm

  10:36pm
Carmichael:

Heya Evan and funksters. Just pulled up to the curb.
  10:37pm
?:

let's hope that efd plays more disco tonight.
  10:44pm
P-90:

I'm just guessing, but it might have been a great deal more than a "hollow victory" that they all did solo records at that point and Ace had the big hit. I remember when those albums came out, the radio very quickly decided that was the only song that was gonna get much play. I bet Ace's personal management def felt "one up" over the others'. I wonder if it really made much difference within the band that he didn't write it?
Sure thing that it's one of the things he's asked about most often, so he'll have a story about that at the ready.
  10:52pm
?:

as you could see efd, i'm all wound up with disco, or is it the three diet cokes I drank earlier?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06pm
Stevel:

Always amazed that the "ticket" is always live. THAT's commitment!!
  11:09pm

I got to hand it to you evan, you always have the greatest shows each week!
  11:10pm

I love Apache Dropout.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11pm
Stevel:

Apache Dropout! Amazingly, Indiana!

Need them to steer through the northern part of the state more often.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15pm
efd:

I think "Amazingly, Indiana" should be the state slogan. I'd love to see that on license plates.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16pm
Stevel:

I miss the old 80s standby "Wander." No one really knew what it meant.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18pm
