Hi Bill, Can you recommend any compact discs that will rock my socks off? Yes, I still buy CDs and vinyl records. Call me a dinosaur!

Here's a good one:

I now officially have purchased 4 CDs in 2014: Best of the Shangrl-Las and 3 Bollywood soundtrack compilations.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm pacific standard simon:

All my physical CDs this year have been DJ premiums. I have been converted to digital purchases for most purposes -- at least, until I have a functioning record player again.

Diggin' this record, Bill, whatever it is.

Hi Bill and everyone. I only buy CDs when I hang around the CD store, seeing what catches my eye. Vinyl only at garage sales and record fairs. Thank God I don't live near the FMU record fair, cuz I'd end up in debtors prison.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49pm pacific standard simon:

See, there's that -- there are no record stores where I live. Yard sales are full of the usual ex-yuppie dreck. I tried to look for records at the annual Rotary auction & rummage sale, but they've stopped selling individual records and now only auction batches. And the CDs are the usual suburban teenage dreck. So I'm safe from debtor's prison as long as I stay away from eBay.

Right on, Moe!
  7:34pm Bill Kelly:

@ Mailman Tom...my favorite cd from 2014 remains for now The Len Price 3 "Nobody Knows". The 99ers "Spark" disc is decent too. From last year, you could download The Persian Claws eponymous disc through Bandcamp or buy ""Getaway" by the Launderettes.

Thanks, Bill !
